may be a little early to tell unless ej has tried or had a good look at it fitting in the photon (not the ex)

Aww...thought the EX would have the aluminum hinge pin toe pieces. Anyways, the rest of the car looks good, glad to hear if I upgrade from my Photon, I'll have spares to go along with the EX.

i don't see a reason why it wouldn't fit. the Photon ball diff also works w/in the Photon EX -- and they didn't remake the ball diff.

Couple of things I noticed with the CAD pictures, am I imagining it, or does it still have all the mounting holes for the current steering rack and servo position?.

Also has it crash tested alright with the new motor mount?

Motor mount is no problem, we had no problems with a few months of racing on the proto.
The only thing to look out of is to be selective which holes you use on some motors, we had a can bend on an Orion VST, using the wrong set of holes, near some vents.

Hi Bishop
Yes it will be possible to use both the new and the old type of steering system. Then it's up to the driver if You prefer a steering rack or not.

Ive seen Larry send his first EX prototype countless times without worry. He didn't replace a metal part on that car.

It struck me today looking at the EX CAD pics that the new diff looks like the one out of the Sabre...

I'm pondering weather to order an EX or not this weekend, spent a lot on RC gear over the new year, but then my current Photon needs a work over, between a few shagged bits and really needing some replacements diffs (managed to chew two micro diffs within two meets in the front end), I realized by the time I clean up and sort out the old car, I'd be half way to buying the new one...

I have a setup from EJ that is going in the right direction. He ran it at Jackson in mod... and I've been running it at Horsham with a 4.0. Ill put together a setup sheet Sunday. If u don't see anything remind me..

EJ will be at the Nats too ....

I just upload my current modified rubber TC carpet setup. It is inspired by EJ's Asphalt Nats setup. The major difference is the front anti-dive.
