do you think there will be a lot of parts compatibility from the old proton to the EX?

im also looking for a new spur gear, do any other manufaturers use the same spur gear on the photon?
As far as I know all the plastics, diffs, shocks, Bearings, and shock towers will carry over from the Photon to the EX

The version of the EX that I have uses all these parts from the Photon.

Thanks for the help Larry - i will look into a purchase or three. looking for two cars for 13.5 and mod and then a third for development..... i'll keep an eye on the retaillers for the selling price and release date...

parts compatibility is a massive selling point.

Default Gear Diff

Does anybody know if the TC6 gear diff will fit in the photon or is there any other one besides spec-r or the micro pro that will work.

My question is, how did you get the one peice top deck to connect to the original motor plate/layshaft holder. Id be interested in trying this.

You should not bother trying anything like this. I have a topdeck that is identical to that and first of all it was impossible to work on. With everything being connected. You have to put shims above the motor mounts and inner bulkheads.

And you run at the C and on carpet all the time. You don't need more chassis flex you probably need less.

Last time I was at the C I dominated the super stock class with a stiff dopdeck and the EJ chassis on my car. There is no need for chassis flex at the C the traction is higher there than almost anywhere on the planet. Get your car working correctly with a stiff chassis/topdeck and it will certainly be faster

Thanks for the tip Larry. Ill leave my car as it is, I got it working quite well yesterday with the stiff top deck and the one peice wings and exotek lower deck on it.

Home made Topdeck
I want try this configuration, have more flex in front of car, second step is double steering crank. but now I test with std bellcrank.
for connect motor mount, put 2mm shim under motor mount inner bulkheads.

x Larry, here in Italy we haven't your grip on the track.
I agree with you is not easy working on it, but learned the technique is not impossible.
so why not try?

I'm looking for two sets (8 shocks) of the V2 shocks. Amain only has one set in stock. Are there any other online sites that sell TOP parts? Or, should I just try TOP USA?
