yesterday I use my Photon with Tamiya parts
this is a setup
http://www.trovamodellismo.com/media...2011-11-01.pdf

first day test with Ride 32 Indoor
good start setup for med/high grip, but low temperature
use narrow chassis

for TOP Parts use:
- 2mm on front camber link
- 2.5mm on rear hub carrier, external hole
- std Wheel Hub

I just fine tuned saucing from there and the car was awesome.

Competition was tight and Hanyes was relentless in the main. I made one tap and lost my lead and couldnt get it back. It was another in a series of good races between Haynes and I.

The Good ole Photon is still a very fast.
Larry, congrats on the wins last weekend and thanks to you and Hanulec for the help all weekend. Everyone should listen to Hanulec about paying attention to and changing the shock o rings regularly. Went through the shock boot camp and picked up .2 a lap.

Here is a pic of my Photon with exo. and velcro!

Just starting my mod-odysee! Loving the grunt. Stock sucks! SUCKS!

Listening to a very nice guy who has been giving me some info ie remove sway bars etc... Has helped a lot in getting it hooked up. Long steep learning curve but I cant wait to run the car again (Tomorrow)
I'm using larger spacers under the battery braces to prevent the pack falling out when the velcro stretches during impacts

Larry raced the old Photon with an EJ chassis. We showed up late to the race and only had 3 hours of practice so he focused on what he knew would work.

Be carefull not to do the velcro strap up to tight as this can cause your chassis to tweek. We found this out the hard way ie car doing 360's one race, car takeing out track record next race, then back to 360's again.

Good advice!

Thats one of the reasons I used larger spacers under the battery braces... So the velcro could have a little slack (Kind of)

Put together the spec r diff... Got it spaced correctly in the bulkheads... Now need some oil to get it on track. Terrible day today with the car... Did a few practice laps and half a race then went home!
I think it needs more droop... and the ball diff is struggling (I think). Any suggestions with the cone washers when running mod? I have it set so its as soft as possible (All cones opposite to the next <><><><>) Could this be my problem?

Car is super lose mid corner and exit... Setup is pretty much kit... Small roll changes and shock positions. Car was real nice but after 3 or 4 runs its terrible. I'm sure its diff related...

As said, spec r to go in so I hope that fixes the problem

Team WTF,I talked to some Mod guys a few months ago about running ball diffs in Mod,they said they rebuilt there diffs after 2 runs (2 races),which seemed about right because we were only getting about 10 runs in 13.5 boosted before we had to rebuild diff (no wonder ppl love gear diffs). We had our washers like this ))))))

Wow... Thats interesting. If I have to re-build diffs that often I'll just run stock!
I'll re-build it with the washers as you said... But pretty dissapointed overall with ball diffs in mod so far.

Hope the gear diff helps

Mod is just hard on ball diffs. I'm pretty sure XRay mod drivers :nly really get 2-3 runs in mod before a rebuild is required. Do your self a favor and pick up the yokomo bd-5 gear diff and some associated tc5/6 blades (drill pin hole and sand width to fit). That is q highly reliable combo for mod TC.
