17.5 1/12th (R12) and 13.5 WGT (R10) for me. Still trying to figure out how to fit some Side Piece parts on my cars because they are so cool

You need the 5th post when mounting the body really low since it gets really flimsy across the wheel arches. I'll try to get a couple pics this weekend (no promises though cuz we are racin!)
So what is that nub on the chassis under the front diff for anyway?

Its for the stand-off that can be used at the center of the Medium or Extra Hard Wing Set

OK ... spent about 6 hours at the track today...track was very very dusty. we sprayed it several times with our grape juice / grape soda combo. track temperature ( asphalt) was 137 degrees. very very difficult to find traction. although i could not use the traction compound recomended by some due to availability. i settled on dr. mitts magical it ( or something like that) i also started with brents setup for a base. after playing with about 6 or 7 different sets of springs, i finally found some pretty good bite with a pair of losi blue springs( 14 lb) on the rear and 289 top on the frt. for tires i ran some medium solaris. steering was very good with the exception of the 1st right hander after a 90 foot straight, where it was a tick loose at mid corner... thanks for all the help guys, you are helping make the transistion to on road that much easier

I think your setup may be a bit to soft try the attached setup.

The car may be a little loose if you over drive the corner but learning to drive with lots of brakes into high speed corners I've found to be essential on low grip asphalt.
This is roughly the same setup i run on carpet, I just put the wing screws back in, run a stiffer front spring 367 or 393, and ~1.5deg frnt \ 2 deg rear camber.

Give this a shot and see if it works. Solaris is a great tire but after the 2 runs they drop off quit a bit on low bite asphalt. Using the paragon my help, we don't run any traction compound at our track so I'm not sure of the effect.

The other thing I've found to be odd at our track, softer tires work better. Track temps run ~130deg around 2nd qual into the mains. Harder tires seem to scallop were softer look great after every run. I'm currently using Muchmore 28's. I'm sure some of this can be fixed with setup but when you can't go out and practice for a whole day to find a setup it's hard.

it will be good to see you again OD.

thanks OD - i haven't even thought about trying to make pan car parts. there are already so many great pieces out there by IRS and Tamale that i don't really know what is missing.

heck, if your running a little light and want to ramp up the bling factor we could probably put some Mira out drives on one of your cars for ballast.

if you want i probably have a photon i could let you race at IIC. maybe you could wrench my 1/12ths and i'll take care of your TC. think about it

I'll be there running 17.5 blinky 12th, 13.5 WGT, and TC Super Stock. Looking foward to another ass kicking by Hanulec, although in 12th i may have something to bring to the table. Looking forward to another awesome year in Vegas.

Glad to see it helped. One of the big things i learned this year about running on low traction asphalt is the use of brakes. You really need to slow the car down when entering the turn so you don't push or have the rear end spin out. Check the temp on your front tires after a 5-6 min run. With a track temp around 130deg your tires should come off around 110 +\- 5 deg. If there getting into the 130 range your over driving the car in to the corners. The rears should be slightly less.

dam OD you have people fighting over your abilities. that is a good place to be

also - for anyone on the east coast - we had a good day of testing and racing at Middle River Hobbies & Raceway in Middle River, MD. if you haven't been to this facility you should really check it out. the track is a bit tight (reminds me of The Gate 2) -- but is glass smooth. there are a TON of 1/12th racers there and some pretty quick TC drivers.
