The foam bumper is beefcake (like the parma bumpers) while the rubber one is wimpy. If u hit stuff get the foam or parma bumper ..

I bought my car second hand, which one comes stock in the kit?

The Rubber and Foam edition bumpers are discontinued. The only bumper supplied now is the TC-PCH20H hard foam bumper, and it comes in the kits. The old bumpers were actually the same stuff, just a little different shape

Some places still have stock of the original bumpers, I found on my Photon it was just too soft, like even if you tap things it would compress and be shagged in no time, also let the body take too much of a bend, though I did find if you left the cutouts in it was almost fine.

Funny thing is the new bumper I think would be waaay too stiff if you left the cutouts in, but it feels about right with the cutouts punched out.

What's the best place for genuine Yokomo BD5 gear diff parts, like replacement gaskets and a replacement gear set?

Questions??

Building tips for the shocks recommend using shims between the piston and the e-clips to eleminate all free play. What is the prefered part number for this?

Also, anyone ever mounted a fifth body post? Attachment point?

EJ had a really cool way to mount a 5th body post. He used the 'nub' that is under front diff to mount a front body post at an offset using a piece of graphite that looks like a rubber 'wing' -- but i'm not sure if it is the wing or not. i don't have a pic, otherwise i'd post it.

EJ -- I know you'll be at the TOP Gun Challenge this weekend. Hopefully you can snap a quick picture of your 5th body post for everyone.

Mike

It is a cut down wing that is attached to the nub on the chassis under the front diff. Then a front body post and perch cut down to fit just under the body. The post is cut flush with the top of the perch which has an adhesive body washer stuck on top of it and the body just rests on it. You need the 5th post when mounting the body really low since it gets really flimsy across the wheel arches. I'll try to get a couple pics this weekend (no promises though cuz we are racin!)

Thanks OD. Good luck at the Top Gun

I'd also recommend just using three strips of top body tape on the wheel arches. On on top, one on front and one on the back side. This has saved my bodies from breaking and helped give a bit more rigidity that I don't think I need the 5th post.

I also add the tape to the front splitter ...

Sadly today was a shocker racing my photon killed 2 motors and broke a chassis where the lipo sits.

Just wondering what chassis to get the same one again? or a exotek?
I'm racing outdoor on tarmac.

thanks in advance for the help.
