Default Photon

Hi all
Ran the photon for the first time on the weekend was quite impressed with the car. The track was indoors and carpet tiles i was lacking a little steering on entry to corners was running pretty much kit except i had a tight ball diff in the front and gear diff in the rear any ideas on getting that extra steering would be great

Regards Mark

3 things I would change to get more steering:

Harder front springs
shorter wheel base
Less rear toe

I'll see you on Sunday so you can check out the TQ car LOL! LOL! LOL!

I like to use 324 springs all round and less rear toe, about 2.5 deg.
No sway bars, shorten camber links instead.

This frees up the car alot and together with 6 deg x-ray hub / knuckles improves steering & rotation.

I also had the rear toe issue. Never seemed right on the set up station but the car was fine on the track.
When I tried to even up with shims would steer different left to right ... took shims out & car was fine again.
If car is behaving fine, I would leave it.

Cheers

Alan

Make sure you have enough mechanical steering in the car too. Remove the link from the servo to the steering rack and see if the three is the same side to side. If not, use a dremel to remove whatever is in the way. Two parts to look four-wheel
1- the "nub" on the steering block - remove it
2- the aluminum chassis bulkheads may hit the steering rack
