Hopefully Ron didn't give away all of the secrets . That setup is really good for 17.5 or 13.5.

Anyone have pics of the USA spec chassis? Just curious how different it is over the standard Photon chassis.

My local tracks ONLY carry TC6 and Photon parts so I'm somewhat deciding between the two.... Just curious if there are any other TC6 owners in here and what are there thoughts.

You have a pm. I just traded a guy at my local track a brand new/half assembled TC6 for a Photon with only 5 weekends on it. The quality of the Associated kit sucked that bad.

Hi Dan -

The 'USA Spec' kit is the same as the Limited Edition kit as it includes a set of spare arms, hubs and knuckles.

http://racerlog.com/wiki/T.O.P._Photon#Overview

The weakest part of the base Photon kit is the screws. I'd highly recommend swapping out the 3x6mm FH screws with the parts I have listed on my wiki - http://racerlog.com/wiki/T.O.P._Photon#Screws

Since coming over to run the TOP from years of XRays (T2'008, T2'009, T3) I'm impressed with the car's corner speed and overall handing. The base setup that Larry created 2+ years ago works super well from high traction carpet (Snowbirds) to medium grip outdoor asphalt with only minimal changes (the ones The GOAT mentioned on the prior page...).

pinion depends upon motor and timing. but the spurs we've been running are at --

http://racerlog.com/wiki/T.O.P._Phot...SPEC_ESC_Class

in not so many words -- you'll be running big gears. stock up for 45t to 52t. don't forget to put a good fan on that motor (and wire it directly to the battery +/-)

I run a 96 tooth spur gear it covers running blinky and w/ timing.

17.5 blinky try FDR's in the range of 3.7 - 4.2. It really does depend in the motor and driving style. Make sure to turn up the timing on the motor.

I run a Ballistic with timing at 45deg (3 ticks above 0\N). FDR for this motor on a large (> 100' X 60') open flowing track would be 3.8 or 3.9.

As always set gearing and timing on motor, run for 3 minutes, check temp. As Hanulec mentioned use a heat sink with a fan attached or a fan mounted to the chassis behind the motor.

JasonC, Exotek is already out of stock on these chassis. Can you tell me if you can use the medium wings with this chassis? I notice that the mounting holes for the medium and hard wings are missing.

Question for the Nor Cal guys. Whats up with EJ's narrow chassis? Is that something that is still a prototype? Liking that exotek chassis but would prefer EJ's so I can steal his set ups

Just ordered my gear diff, an extra spool, and the king headz bell crank. Can't wait to start wrenchin. Has anyone ever tried the low friction belts, and are they worth the money?
