The standard chassis does not offer this ability as there holes under the diffs in the front and rear are smaller.

Hope this answers your question.

Hopefully sooner then later
Is CEFX version narrower? I've heard it gives little too much flex....

Thanx for the info

Will part #PO-PCH025RD aluminum/carbon fiber steering bell crank work on the photon? I can only find it at RC Market located under the Sabre FD.

Thanks for the info on the king Headz bell crank
DRCW has the King Headz Bell crank in stock last I checked. The King Headz bell crank kit only comes with an aluminum bell crank that connects to the servo. The one I'm looking at getting (if some one can confirm that it works on the photon) is the complete bell crank kit made of carbon and aluminum and looks less likely to bend due to the carbon arm connecting to the servo.

There is still one plastic piece even with TOP's bellcrank. I have the kingzhead one, works fine.

That is the correct part # for the new Alloy Steering Crank Set from T.O.P. for the Photon. It does not fit the Sabre FD. With both the new T.O.P. bell crank and the King Headz bellcrank you need to use the front portion of the stock bellcrank (the part where the Ackerman inserts go) and it is not included with either upgrade bellcrank. Both the T.O.P. and the King Headz bellcranks are available from TOP USA, for a good price too

So for my simple mind to get this right. The TOP and the King Headz are the same. The TOP bell crank doesn't come with the alloy Ackerman inserts or the carbon bell crank arm?

If this is true I will go with the King Headz because my LHS has it in stock.

Thank
Will N.

No, the T.O.P. and King Headz option bellcranks are completely different.

The King Headz unit is an exact copy of the stock part except that it is aluminum, it's the part that goes on the steering post. It's tried and true, a quality piece.

The T.O.P. Alloy Steering Crank Set includes the alloy parts which sandwich the carbon fiber crank arm (included), the alloy Ackerman inserts, screws and spacers. At about 33 bucks (from TOP USA) it's a pretty good deal considering the alloy Ackerman inserts alone cost $20.00. It's a pretty new part but we've sold plenty of them and they seem to be very good Oh, and the bling content is high

Thanks for all the helpful info!

My LHS sold there last king headz bell crank so I think I'll order the TOP bell crank. Seems like you get a lot more for the extra $10-12.

P.S. Happy new year!!!! 1/1/11

Default that's quite costly - and whilt on the subject...

I must say that the new steering bellcrank part's along with lipo chassis upgrades seem rather expensive.

I thought that part of the T.O.P thing wa that it wa gonna cost a fair bit less, but all those spares, options, and parts are undercut by Hot bodies, associated, Schumacher, and Tamiya. I think T.O.P parts are on par with Yokomo, a bit less than Xray, and obviouly cheaper than Corally.

I am not being tight - I jut think that the T.O.P - really isn't particularly good value - not that it is lousy, but the quality of some parts are questionable.

Whilst on the subject I have to be honest and say that T.O.P should also include better quality screws with their car kit - they are rubbish. I moved over to the Photon, and I quite like the car, it just a few gripes of feedback which I hope that TOP will address.

I had a great day with the car. I found out that XRay steering knuckles and rear hubs fit the Photon. Its a work in progress, but today was a HUGE improvement in rear grip, durability, and consistency.
