Shocks are everything in TC. As important as tire choice if you ask me. You gotta be crazy picky.

Actually it just hit me, with numbers like 20-30-40 etc, that is like shore durometer ratings, so hardness of the o-ring material, higher the number harder the material.

Can you post a picture of your chassis, Juts want to see how you narrowed it where the motor guard is.

thanks

That is a link to the Teflon guides that go in the v2 shocks. They will work in the v1 shocks and make your v1 shocks very smooth with out having to buy the whole v2 shock set.

As far as sealing, I can't get mine to seal completely. They always seem to leak a little bit, but that's ok for me because I rebuild them before every race.

And for the o-rings, I have been told they don't matter. Which makes me wonder why they have different ones.
Thanks I will use the guides. I have been advised by a friend to use 40 grade seals, and that it does matter. So far it seems every detail counts. I'm fairly fussy I use TRF shocks, shim the pistons 0.1mm, and drill them 1.2mm and drill the caps to kill rebound but use the standard o ring. I think these shocks are very good set like this and I'm sure the TOP shocks have the same potential. Tamiya make a blue o ring I might try. It seems their diaphragms are the item of choice of a lot of racers no matter the brand of car. Perhaps the shocks the next most important area after tyre preparation

I have always used xray springs until recently and have tried TOP, they have been very good providing intermediate steps between xray grades. But I want to try Tamiya springs also, apparently they have a different feel, I'd like to try.

Sorry it might not be the right thread to ask this but been told to get white and blue (carpet) although the springs are completely white. Well some are black. Some coloured..Any recommendations/ part numbers?

I don't have any pictures handy, but I will see if I can post them later.

i took off the motor guard and shaved off 5mm on both sides of the chassis using a dremel.

Yeah, that is the sheet he was referring to I think. Sometimes it takes a minute for the data to load.

Martin, you left a few bits on the sheet blank. Are you still using the #12 (largest space between holes) ackermann insert?
