I need Help. I took my car out for the first time tonight. It actually did pretty good considering the following....

I could not hit ride height!!! shocks all the way up car sat at 7mm up front, and could barley hit ride height in the rear. 5.5mm. I'm running rubber tires. It is supposed to be a rubber car but I feel like it might have foam shock towers on it.... can someone please help.. DO they make taller shock towers?

Smoke81> That would be the opposite problem then.

A Morris> You can take out the black shims between the spring and the bottom cup that holds the spring. - But maybe You have some wrong springs as well?

Good luck

Durrr.. My bad.. I guess I really should work on catching up on my sleep ..

I guess the question would have to go.. Shock Length, you shouldn't have a problem using the shims although make sure your only using one per spring ( I know they come with a extra per shock or something like that).

There are no shims in the springs. I'm using X-Ray springs, but they are the same length. Ehhh frustrating...

Throw the Original kit springs into the car and see if the problem is solved, ie you can achieve ride height etc
if so get the genuine top springs in the required rate your after

Here's Dustin Layne's winning 17.5 stock setup from IIC. His car looked fantastic all weekend, especially when his electronics were working.

Thank you Adam!

The only thing I can think of to add right now is. I ran Alumn spool outdrives and 44.5mm bones in the front.

You should check your droop screws on the rear/front, they can limit the shock travel. My rear droop is set to 1. (to get a ride height of 5.5mm)

Cheers
Ant.

Droop screws would only limit the cars ability to obtain a higher ride height. They won't stop it from going lower.

Measure your shock lengths. My shocks are @57mm from hole to hole.

I had the same thing when I tried xray springs, rear wouldn't get much below 7mm, try different springs (top ones work fine as do hpi etc)

I use xray springs no problem at all
Shocks around 62.5 from top to buttom...
Droop F=5.5 or 6 ,R=5 or 4.5( I remove rear upright to measure)
Ride height F=5 ,Rear=5.5
