Goingfast - I know it's in testing stages right now working with materials and such. I drew it up (it's tiny!!) but I haven't seen it in person. I was told it's working well but just making sure it's durable. The crazy part is that they did make it with aluminum outdrives (I wasn't sure if they would use steel) which means it's actually lighter than the stock ball differential!! Should be awesome when it arrives.

Pics soon... Check the latest Xtreme with the Snowbirds in it. There's a pic of me holding the car (just a top view) and you can see the prototype I ran at the Birds and the Carpet Nats.

Really, it's intended for rubber tires - not specific to asphalt or carpet. We will offer different stiffness chassis later down the road.

if they make a gear diff for the photon, i would buy a photon for sure. the only other race bred tc that had a gear diff was the s400, and it came and went too quick to get parts for it.

these 3.5's need something other then a ball diff. if top/CEFEX does make the gear diff, please make it light but with nitro car durability. and offer an upsized rear belt

that would be cool

yeah!! i have been running the car approx 3 weeks before the Nats, Hess and Vince Jackson had me run both their cars!! I had to find one! I couldnt locate a new kit since they were backorded at the time, so i purchased a used one here...

Car ran great all weekend!! Stayed on pace for podium all qualifying rounds and triple A-mains!! As traction came up.. car got better!!!
I had my previous car(other manufacture) for sale on the counter during the Nats. Well it sold, and purchased a new Photon US version kit with the new spare parts! The added steel spool outdrives are awesome!!!

As for asphalt Nats... i think some of us racers from Mimis are planning to attend!!! My girl is planning hotel and airfare reservations early..

EJ i posted the Nats videos on the Nationals thread.. i was running the bronze color car...

Default Important Update about the TOP GUN SHOOTOUT

I wanted to take a moment to update the TC racers planning to attend the TOP GUN SHOOTOUT. I have been discussing the "13.5 Unlimited" class with racers and race directors from all across the U.S. and it seems that change is one the way. With the new developments in technology the speed of 13.5 motors is getting out of hand. For this reason I am heavily considering changing this class to "17.5 Unlimited". This change would not effect the "17.5 Limited" class.

I feel that this change would provide the best racing and be better for the event as a whole. We can expect to see this happening at other upcoming major events nation wide also.

If you would like to provide input on this please do so at TOP GUN SHOOTOUT EVENT INFORMATION

I will be making the final decision within a few days.

Whats the best way to change the spur gear on the Photon? I am having a hell of a time getting the 20t pulley off the spur and off the bearing. Should the center shaft just slide out?

Jimmy, Nice drive on 18 the other day, about 70 more yards and you would have been right next to me.

Fred better send you a car or else I'm building a Photon for you. LOL
