Your car looks very good on the track, would you care to post your setup?

Can I also ask why you were using the carpet version on asphalt? I have heard from one of the guys over here that they prefer the carpet version on asphalt tracks when the grip is up, but I'm wondering if you found it faster or if that's all you have

I hear you guys like to run the Atomic LCD's for the 416 in this car? If so, I've got two sets NIP I'm gonna sell. PM me if you're interested (US only please).

Congratulations to Larry and Schreff for the great showing at the Halloween classic. Getting TQ over Hebert is big time!

The rubber tire setup is actually what Larry already posted in this thread earlier. There were literally no changes from running jaco blues at our home track to running SJR 28s at the Classic. The cars were unreal, just either had bad racing luck or poor tire decision making at the wrong times. Tires were VERY important. Larry TQed rubber and I q'd 3rd. Larry had bad luck on lap 1 and was out. I, however, got through the first initial battles from that and was catching Keven... just wasn't enough time and I pushed too hard at times.

As for the foam setup, we'll get working on that and post it soon. Larry q'd 2nd in Foam (had the best car), and I q'd 4th.

All in all, I think the race was a great success for us and the Photon. Larry's TQ in rubber, my 2 2nd place finishes... the car showed it is a force to be reckoned with. Wins will come and soon.

Hi CraigM

This is Ryan Lee from Sweepracing.com

I run TOP Photon with Bart who is my buddy driver,

We've tested TOP's chassis back to back and I found the stock chassis from the kit is a bit slow when the car enters sweeper after high speed straight because of its soft chassis flex.
so i put extra hard wing for my car with soft rubber top deck, and I felt the chassis flex is just right there for asphalt track, I think it will work on rubber carpet too.

We prefer using hpi gold to blue spring and we make air hole on the shock's cap about 1mm to make shock's damping slow. this results my car's driving easier and feel more traction on outdoor asphalt with low traction.

By changing these my car's laptime was 0.1 to 0.2 sec faster than before on that videod track.

Thanks,

Ryan

My car is a rubber spec and I added extra hard wings with medium top deck

These changes gave me a quicker cornering with no sacrificing of its good balance.

Just curious, How many teeth on the front/rear pulleys and the center pulley on the photon?

Like Schreff said we ran that setup that I posted.

It was the best car I have ever driven on rubber tire carpet. I even rolled it once from tapping a flapper on my 2nd tq run lost 3 seconds and was still able to get Tq by almost a second.

My foam car was also the best foam car I have had in a long time if not ever, especially at those speeds, I had the tq after 3 rounds but Robbie also being super fast was able to snatch it away in the 4th round. I was leading that race too but got sucked into the flapper and spun around and lost it to him. Either way the car was capable of winning both classes.

Lets just say my mechanic(me) screwed up the prep of my rubber car due to tiredness before the main and it cost me what would of been a great win.

In foam I was too agressive early in the race and it cost me bigtime. Oh well I live and learn from my mistakes.

Either way the car made a great impression on many people and I think like Jason said there are many big wins to come for the Photon and Top.

We'll get that Foam setup online soon. And the rubber setup should get anyone on med/high bite close to being dialed.

2) Hebert, Kevin
3) Schreffler, Jason (TOP)
4) Crisp, Martin
5) Johnson, Brad
6) Goetz, Chris
7) Blackstock, Mike
8) Ellis, Drew
9) Ciccarello, Paul
10)Haynes, Mike

Pro Foam A Main Qualifying Order

1) Dodge, Robbie
2) Fairtrace, Lawrence (TOP)

The mains didn't go as planned (Larry's inability as a mechanic ), that's okay there will be more races to conquer.

Great job guys!

After looking at that setup I noticed we did change a few small things. So here is the setup we ran at the classic in rubber.
