Quick question. Is it better to start of with a Foam or a Rubber car for Carpet Rubber tire racing? I see people are using the foam chassis.

Thanks
Jerry

Default shock ball cups

I was working on my car last night and I noticed that my shock ball cups don't move freely on the ball. Anybody else have this issue? I know it's not a major issue but I like to remove all possible tweak points.

I just use a body reamer to take a little material out of the inside of the cup. Then they are smooth as butter.

Default F1 Decals

I decided to try this set of decals from Hong Kong. http://cgi.ebay.com/f103-decals-for-...QQcmdZViewItem

These are a nice set, quality just like what comes in a regular kit... 4 sheets for that cover basic Red Bull, Ferrari (Marlboro and bar codes) Jaguar, and Mclaren.

Maybe he has others available...be nice...fwiw..

Hi! Thinking to grab one of this Photon Rubber/Asphalt version cars. But got confused between the specs.
1. At Instruction manual downloaded from TopRacing website, it showed that the universal bone listed as aluminium one, but at the web's photo gallery it look like steel bone. Can someone light me up about this?
2. At earlier page at this thread, someone (i forgot) explained that Rubber version got aluminium (red?) tie-rod/turnbuckle. But at instruction manual downloaded and photos, it shows steel tie-rod for rubber version. Which one is right?

Just can't wait to have this car.

Thanks in advance for any help/explanation

The Rubber car comes with steel front bones and alum rears. The reason for this is the spool up front needs steel or they will bend.

The car comes with steel turnbuckles also. But the car race ready is underweight by a ton so it doesn't need aluminum ones unless you want the pretty red ones.

Thanks a lot for the light, L.Fairtrace.

I usually raced modified class with 3.5R and Lipo combination in my country. Just wonder if the front plastic spool can hold the severe punishment like XRAY ones? Or I should change to new Steel outdrives?

The rubber kit I got last month came with ally driveshafts all 'round. And it's not the only one like that I've seen.

It did come with 4 plastic and 2 steel spool outdrives though. I tried plastic first and stripped one (I race indoors carpet) but the current pair seem to be lasting ok!

Anyone know if there are alloy servo mounts in the pipeline ?

I managed to strip the standard plastic ones in a collision and I am finding it tricky to get some replacements

Alloy ones with two mounting holes (like the Xray ones) would be good - need to be offset a bit though so that a servo saver can be used.

I have seen 5 cars come like that, and they were all rubber asphalt versions.
The alloy bones up front seem to wear out fast driving with the spool.
