I wonder if you can bend one around a motor...

Those things need a lot of power to work, so no use in a car to cool a motor, one side gets very cold while the other gets very hot, people have tried them on PC's and find they aren't worth the effort, and PC modders don't mind a bit of effort to be different, as long as it works....

Super Steve - I bought a peltier to see if it would work for cooling but the heat that is generated at the opposite side is a lot. You need a really big heatsink for the heat to dissapate otherwise the entire unit gets really hot. They are not flexible and require a lot of power. But hey, if you can figure out a way to make it work for r/c please post it!!!

Actually, there is a guy that makes a Peltier motor cooler here in Florida. You hook it up to your power supply and can clip it on the motor ( depending on chassis ). When your ready to go, take it off, and run your race with a motor that starts off, many degrees cooler.

If one side gets really cold and the other side gets really hot, Wouldn't it be cool if you could rig it to conduct the cold to the motor and the heat to the tires right before a race.

just checked out those stuff and i have no idea what it is! all i know is that its kinda like a heat sink thats ice cold and could cool stuff, but HOW would it generate power? is the heat sink in the picture to show ONE of the ways of hooking it up or is it to keep it cool?

if you wanna cool your motors down before you race, spray the motor with cold spray (normally used to test dry joints when soldering i think, and when you burn yourself). This stuff will cool the motor right down. CRC (not the rc company) make it. or just try a chemist?
