Wow, must have struck a nerve.
WGT, one set of tires, no parts breakage, faster lap times, more fun per dollar/pound. What's not to like?
Hard-core, hardly.
BTW: I've been racing TC for over ten years and it's on a death roll in my region, dirt has taken over except for a few parking lots.
At the local track last season we didn't have enough TCs or VTAs to make a class but we had several heats of WGT and 1/12. We even let a TC run with the WGTs since he made the trip, the following week he had a new WGT amd sold the TC.

The club I race with is holding there first indoor cup race and the numbers are quite good in 1/12 and WGT.

One thing I gotta ask about after looking at the body list...did Protoform cancel the Gianna body? according to the rules it was supposed to come out July 09 and never heard anything about it, didnt see it on the new products section of the website or anything

Gianna body was noted as cancelled on a different string some time ago.

Thanks for the update Bill...its too bad about the PF Corvette. I really was looking forward to topping my Pantoura with one painted like a FIA GT1 Corvette.
the upshot to the Aston Martin is that there are lots of them in racing so if I break down and get one I can paint one up like a real car

I am digging into the back of my mind and hopefully remembering most of a discussion a some of us had at the 2009 IIC with Todd of Protoform about the fate of the Gianna...
Todd said that with the economy being up in the air so much; he was not going to produce another WGT body that would only compete with his then widely used Sophia. At the time, Todd felt that the Sophia was superior to his competitor's current body offerings. He was also very forthright about letting us know that developing a new body shell costs him a ton of money.

It's to bad that there aren't more wgt bodies out there. The Sofia is nice but im like trackdesigner71 i want to have something different. so i chose the protoform corvette painted ALMS style. I like the astin martins but I'm not to keen on the parma version

Itd be nice if somebody could make another Mustang based on the newer Mustang GTR and Id like to see the WGT body rules looked at again with so many bodies (except the Sophia, Aston Martin DB9 and the Ferrari 599 (I think the 430 is the one being raced in reality these days) and maybe a few more bodies hit the shelves
