Default 2009 "IIC" Las Vegas International Indoor Championships

Hello everyone, even though the 2008-2009 indoor racing season is still in full swing it is time to start planning for the 5th annual International Indoor Championships. Last years event surpassed our previous IIC’s for many reason and the 2009 IIC will take what we did last year and make it even better.
Last year we moved back onto the Strip at the wonderful Riviera Hotel and Casino and that was the catalyst that made the 08 IIC the best.
We have new dates this year that brings us back to September but not only in September but the week after Labor day which is going to work out awesome, You ask why? Here you go. With today’s economy everyone is working at hard as they can and can only afford to take so many days off to attend races. This is where the holiday comes into play as well as the most positive comment we heard after last years IIC. Back by popular demand we will be running the mains on Saturday. Out of all the comments we received after last years event, everyone loved running the mains on Saturday allowing them a relaxing day to travel on Sunday and not having to take an extra day off of work the Monday following the IIC. So here is the schedule.

Monday “Labor Day Holiday: Sept 7th Pit set up from 4-6pm.

Tuesday September 8th - Practice by division not by heats. This will give everyone the most practice time. Drivers Meeting Dinner Buffet at the top of the Riviera Ballroom.

Wednesday September 9th - Practice by heats then Sponsor Meet and Greet with free food and free Beer. Yes free Beer.

Thursday September 10th - 2 rounds of qualifying. With a resort after round 2

Friday September 11th – 2 rounds of qualifying with a resort after round 3.

Saturday September 12th - Mains and awards after each A Main.

So with this new schedule, you will only have to take 4 days off of work to attend the IIC.

Other great things returning after last year’s success.

Tuesday night Driver Meeting Dinner Buffet: Again something that everyone raved about and this year it will be held at the top of the Riviera with a great view of Las Vegas. This gave everyone a chance to step away from the race and relax and socialize. Plus eat some great food which is all included in your entry fee.

Wednesday night the Sponsor Meet and Greet social:. Participating sponsors will be set up to answer questions and showcase their products and you can meet their team drivers and ask the questions you always wanted to know the answers about, this is held in a laid back atmosphere and we will have free food and beer for all drivers, this is also at no charge to you and included in your entry fee.

Amateur Division will again be back after the great response we had last year and the great racing that took place in it. This gave the true independent driver the opportunity to shine in a division where sponsored or factory drivers are not allowed to participate.

More information about all the classes will be announced at a later date.

The Riviera worked with us to offer a lower rate for weekday stay this year and we have a rate of $79 dollars on Tuesday thru Thursday and a rate of $109 on Friday and Saturday. Just as in past events, all participates of the IIC must stay at the Riviera, unless you are a resident of Las Vegas. The only way we can hold a race in a hotel in Las Vegas is to guarantee them that we will fill their hotel with our racers. So this is why this rule has to be.
Reservations can be made by calling the Riviera Reservations at 1-800-634-6753 and mention the group code of International Indoor Championships or IIC. For our international racers, you can call 1-702-794-9412 to make your reservations.

LiveRC.com will again be there to bring everyone around the world the most in depth and comprehensive live coverage possible. In conjunction with LiveRC.com We will, as always be using RC SCORING PRO for our scoring software. RC Scoring Pro gives both the racer and the viewer online a detailed result of each and every lap the racers turn, both in practice and racing in real time.

The great team of professionals that have help me put on the IIC will again be back to ensure the smooth running and timely event like everyone has come to expect for the past 4 years. This team again being lead by our lead Tech Official Jamie Tennies.

A lot more information will be forth coming with some more exciting changes to this year’s event but we wanted to give everyone the info as soon as we could so you can start planning on attending the best RC Event in the World.

So we look forward to seeing everyone in September on the world famous Las Vegas Strip for the 2009 International Indoor Championships. Go to www.iic09.com for all the latest info.

Sincerely,
Scotty Ernst

Good one Jeff,

Only if I drink to much. But then I can have Charlie start the day and I will sleep it off.

Hope you can make it, it would be great to have you there.

And get Robbie to wheel his car, he can still do it!

Scotty
