it seems that we have gotten off topic a bit. 17.5 2c lipo it a bit faster than 13.5 4 cell, 21.5 2c lipo semms to be "equivilant".....so why try and please a few guys when you can boost car counts and please em all. 2c lipo will make this class as big as any. and don't let the masses foll you, there are pleanty of club level guys who have fitted 2c packs into their cars, so why cant the "pros" do it too?????

When do sign ups start?
...Whatever is decided on the W-GT class, please make sure in includes LIPO! Its been an absolute joy running lipo (vs nimh). I'm running a 17.5 lipo which has good straight line speed and plenty of corner snap (on carpet of course). I vote for a 13.5 lipo class just to make it interesting....Assuming of course there are no beginners showing up to race. ...Or we could follow ROAR and have World GT = 13.5/4-cell, and Outlaw World GT = 17.5/lipo.
i'm all over the place!!!!

I am looking to make the 2009 IIC my first big race, and plan on racing the 1/12 Stock and WGT classes, so I have a little interest in what comes down on the battery decision.
Personally I am OK with NiMh or LiPo batteries, but I would prefer LiPo for ease of maintenance, travel, and even closer competition. I could leave all but one small charger and power supply at home, and could probably practice and race both classes on a single battery, if needed.
If Scotty could make a decision soon on the battery direction and car weights, the better for everyone. It is a little hard to source all the parts, then practice with new equipment and setups if he waits until 2-months before the race. I already see huge ESC and Tire shortages each big race, and if LiPo is the new direction, the Novak boosters will be in very short supply.

What about single cell lipo for ALL Pan classes ... Now this would be a step in the right direction...
Just my opinion....
