Didn't Tim C. beat the lipo/17.5 cars with his 4cell 13.5 car a couple of weeks ago at Norcal??
I feel the same as some. To grow the class its eaiser for a newbie to start with a lipo then Nimh's.
I know for my local track, we have got 5 new racers to run Crc's with lipo's with the first race coming up this weekend.
Come on Scotty, you know better. Tim is a national champion and the other guys are, um, not. He would have beat them driving anything.
I'm not talking about growing the class, I'm talking about the IIC. But to your point, its great that you got some new racers to run your 2s class, but they all bought CRC cars so where's the variety? I have nothing at all against the GenX10, its a great car, but face it-you might as well call it "CRC class"
True, I know Aaron Y. is running the BMI with a stick lipo and I would like to see more cars. The main reason Billy started to carry the CRC was that it worked out of the box on ashpalt with the Jaco spec tires and NO spray on the track.

Is the amateur division open to all skill levels? Are there going to be different classes within (ie.13.5-17.5)? I am interested in racing at this event after two years of spectating.
As you quoted in Scotty's post the answer is yes (even if it's your very first time touching an RC car). There's only only divison of motor for that class. As long as they're not factory or sponsored.
E
thanks, has that motor been chosen yet? I have been racing for a while but not good enough for a sponsership, I just like the idea of four days of racing.

And Tim would have likely beat us on NorCal's big asphalt track yesterday too. He is a very talented driver.
WGT with 4-cell and 13.5 and GT10 with lipo and 17.5 classes please...To get maximum entries. Then you will find which is most popular.
The lipo car class could even be Gen-X 10 specific to see if CRC (Frank) would want to sponsor it as a spec type class...Just a stray thought...Sorry Frank.

Y'all better stop. We spent 4 years trying to convince Tim he was just another hack. You're reversing all our hard work!
