i think there should be a pro mod rubber class and a seperate sportsman mod rubber class and i'm sure i can get some backing on that, another guy, he probably wants a sportsman 13.5 rubber class added, and on and on and on. so yea, it does hurt to ask, cause if you get your way and i don't get my way, then i'm gonna call scotty all kinds of names and cry like a baby.

Well I guess we'll just have to disagree , but the questions has already been asked... May ill lend you a tissue?

And hey if its a bad idea to change mid stream I think everyone will understand that... But maybe an idea for next year

a pretty fair point. rubber tire 17.5 limited to sportsman only. yet 17.5 foam left open. as someone who is indifferent to the situation, it does not seem quite right. knowing the growing popularity of rubber tire on carpet, and the decline of foam touring, at least in our area, it would seem that parity between the two disciplines be addressed. the "purist" in me loves foam touring, as that is where i started really getting into racing, but the enthusiast in me loves to see all sides of r/c be equally represented.

that being said, i feel that scotty has done a good job in giving everyone a shot to race. 3 classes of rubber 3 of foam, 3 of 1/12 and 2 of wgt, seems pretty reasonable to me. i would believe that the decision by scotty, and i cannot speak for him, was based on the ease of running rubber instead of foam would be more attractive for a true sportsman.

just my .02

Scotty,

I'm thinking of making this year my first IIC. I would like to run 17.5 foam and rubber. I really don't know if I'm eligible for the Amateur class what are the rules?

Thanks

Absolutely no sponsorship or help from any manufacturer or LHS. You have to be totally self supported in the amateur class.

Because I don't like 13.5 rubber on carpet. I'll be running 13.5 foam before I ever run 13.5 rubber.

I think we need Masters and junion rubber calsses too. Why not throw in a Powder Puff 17.5 and 13.5 classes as well?

Why not just have one Rubber Touring class and the driver chooses the motor speed he is most comfortable with and rocks it.
