I think I know where you're coming from. With the cold weather the graphite tends to be über brittle & plastic too sometimes. Had the same case myself & nothing help till they put the heater on.

Guess your only option is to 'give' a little & need not be greedy in the corners.

Thanks all for your help and suggestions!

For sure the BD5WR is worth the effort, the car works so well, now that I have the setup nailed down. I WILL get the c-hub mystery solved!

thanks again

I had the same problem before so I end up using xray C-hub and steering block which I also converted to xray ECS to eliminate the chatter. The car width is the same.

here's some pics

no you have to use the xray pin as well to hold the C-hub they're 3mm in diameter...and the xray c-hub has grab screws underneath to hold it. you will also have to shave .3mm from the c-hub to fit perfectly to the arm.

I drilled it to have a better play...I think the yokomo pins are 2mm only, also the xray ECS uses C plastic blades for the outdrives, I run mod with the yokomo so the steel outdrives doesn't last long. The spool is by TOP and the outdrives is by someone that makes it here in the US which I found it on this forum also. This car has a lot of corner speed and I like so much than my Xray T3 2011 in terms of handling.

Any tips for removing some of the slop in the steering rack? I see the new WX kit has updated steering rack. Does anyone have the part numbers for the parts in it?

I think it's just the 8mm one, you could try putting new ball cups or layer some shrink wrap ontop of the ball before popping the ballcup on.

The bearing holes fit tighter on the updated part. It will also help you get rid of those "chicken strips" They are in CA, you'll get the part in two days or so.
