Pricing on present lipo spec chassis are becoming more pricier! I mean theses cars are more narrower and lighter using less material on carbon and aluminum? We re really paying more for less!

I would assume they just cut it out of one big piece of carbon fibre anyways, now there are more holes, the cost to make should go up as more cutting required?

i dont think it's pricey..

they include chassis weight into the kit which is not included in prev kit (bd5).
newly design motor mount.

i dont see they use less aluminium in bd5w kit...it's same with the bd5 except new motor mount ..

cutting little smaller lowerdeck doesnt make the cost lower...

FACTORY TEAM TC5R $299.95
FACTORY TEAM TC6 $369.95
T3 EU RUBBER LIPO EDITION $469.00
HOT BODIES TCX $439.95
T.O.P Racing Products Photon $379.99

BD5 World Spec Chassis Kit $635.00

Now look guys. I did not say that the car was anything less than wonderful. I would in fact, love to have one. That does not change the fact that any average club racer can plop down that $635.00 and then get dusted by any of the kits above in the right hands. Now if Volker himself or Masami will show up and drive it, sure I will pay the extra two hundred bucks. Aside from that I will put the change toward another lipo and charger.

everyone is making great points! I love this hobby to death but having to hear from another that they can't get a brand they want/support cause of $$$ just sucks! I really want everyone to drive this chassis cause it is by far super stable all around! If you really love Yoke I would recommend their r12. KS are you a Factory driver and have you driven the r12? I need some set up help!

By watching some pictures from last weekend ETS race I noticed that Martin add weight in front, middle and in the back of the car so 70gr maybe more). That make the car almost reach 1500gr!?

Why add so much weight on the car when the minimum weight limit for the car is 1350gr?
Do you ride the car with 50-50 front and rear weight balance?
Doesn't this extra weight have a negative impact on the car's performances?
75g of leadweight and a fan (10g) -> 1357g total

T3'11 is $495

Tamiya 416x is $535

Its why we have a choice... its the premium car at the moment. AE is always going to have the best price. They are owned and run by Thunder Tiger. All their kits are made in China or Taiwan at THEIR factories that are making lots of other products as well so the cost will always be low.

It is what it is. Thats why I don't drive a CLS 65 AMG! LOL

The bd5w is 570 from hk, looking at the other cars where it is similar to the prices posted, I think this would make it a more fair comparison.

On my car I have:

Mazda speed light
Speed Passion 10.5T
Speed Passion GT 2.0
KO Low profil 2413
Spektrum micro receiver
LRP 5900 50C
LRP CPX tyres

The total weight 1405 gr

The BD5 is stock with steel driveshaft and the same options than every body (spool, steel spool outdrive, body mount, Anti roll bar mount, etc)

Are you using some light weight parts? I know the titanium screw set but are there other parts to make the car lightest?

I would also consider the 416x out of my price range. Don't go thinking that I dont absolutely love this car. Its just that I dont love it quite as much as the market does. Now if I were sponsored, or if I just was able to race more than I can, and the performance advantages of the car were more evident, then I might be more likely to let go of that extra $200.
