I remember when the car was popular it out it seemed to be about the same time when people (at least I) was switching to brushless/lipo...I remember the car was hot, and people were venting parts of the chassis to run them...gearing as well.

Seems if tamiya would re-release it with a very simple double deck FRP/carbon/graphite reinforced plastic plate(s) chassis....it would take off.

It was already fun to drive, relatively easy as well.

Oh well...I'm dreaming..

I just caught the F201 bug and its a very well designed and thought out
Chassis. Well ahead of its time and judging by a few EBay auctions I lost
There's certainly a following for F201's.

I would buy a remake of the f201 in a heartbeat..

Ready to revive my F201 for a build on the blog soon. I loved racing mine and when I found this box in the loft I decided to update the spare car I had

Upgrade parts available too, the carbon body is of course also included with the F201 The-Border has new in the box. Buy the kit & get the 2 bodies that come with it.

Anyone that wants just a carbon body, that's available too: WRC F1 full carbon body.

I've listed a NIB 3Racing complete carbon fiber chassis in the for sale thread. Will consider international shipping.

Default Modified F201

I have modded my F201 to the more current style F1 car by swapping out the front gearbox assembly with FGX parts and the McKune carbon kit. Amazingly many of the holes already lined up, so I didn't have to drill or make any mods to the pieces. I call it the F201GX. I do still have 3 more F201's, along with the uber rare MLP chassis and aluminum/carbon fiber braces. Next on the project list is to convert the front back to IFS, but utilizing the FGX parts..

What part of the car are you referring to? For the wheel hubs?

I just spent a while flipping through this thread, good to see folk still running F201s

Me and a mate bought a couple maybe 10-12years ago, but we gave up on them when they kept breaking the tiny bolt that holds the diff together. We tried the "upgraded" lightweight diff setup, but had the same problem.

We were running these back in the day of brushed motors, so I'm wondering how you guys get them to hold together with brushless motors?

Here's my Ferrari. Has the ally suspension links and shocks.

I'm toying with the idea of piecing together an F201 from a parts lot, could be fun.

I want to run my F103 body on it, do F103 bodies fit the F201 generally speaking?

(i know body post holes won't align, interested in front gearbox clearance especially)
