TC3 17.5 GEARING

Does Anyone know what gear combo will work to achieve 3.5 fdr that will work in the chassis without major chassis mods in 64p?Thank You.

Anyone?

That 2.5 internal ratio is going to call for a pretty extreme spur/pinion combo.

Anyways, I don't know if it will fit for you or not, but you're looking at around a 57/80 pinion/spur in 64 pitch to hit right around a 3.5FDR.

Best I can suggest you do [as I did] is take your existing spur and pinion [assuming you've been running 27T brushed] that puts you somewhere in the middle of your motor mount adjustment, to your local hobbyshop and eyeball that pinion/spur combo I suggested and see if the centers line up reasonably close while meshed. If so, you "should" be able to fit it into your car, and still give you adjustment range up and down on your pinion.

That's again assuming that nobody else that could give you a proven working gear ratio for your TC3 chimes in.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Run a 76 spur with a 54 tooth pinion. it will be tight but it should fit and puts you at 3.51

Thank you!

Re...Gearing

Check out the motor cam mod in the VTA tuning Q&A thread...page8 post223. I think this would help so you can get more variety in FDR.:nod:

I run a 50/80 without overheating. You should have plenty of punch with a 4.0 FDR.

Haywood I'm having the same issue, so don't feel like the lone ranger:lol::lol: I'm trying to use a 85/60 combo but without further surgery that's not gonna happen:eek:

I always ran a 74t spur and a 47-49t pinion.

73x52 will get you to 3.509, as close as you can get. Robinson makes the 73t spur.
