They are testing it, and it is fast, but I dont think there is any set date of release yet.

Hi Randman,
Glad to hear that Team Orange is constantly experimenting and improving their products

Just a couple of questions :

1) How big is the new ESC? The size of the presnt one is a big (pun intended) reason why I haven't bought one yet

2) Is it still going to be a sensored system?

Thanks a million

Cheers

i think they will have to come up with a new speedo for a faster BL motor, heard from somewhere that the current motor is the max the current speedo can handle

That's also what I heard, Charlie S(who works at Novak) posts on a number of forums, & he mentioned recently that they did in fact have to start designing a brand new ESC for the more powerful brushless motor that they have planned, because the current one is maxxed out handling the SS motor. At the time, he had no idea just how big the new ESC would be or if it'd use a different system than the current one(he said they had just started the design process), so he really had no idea of just how long it'd take to produce. but I'm sure with a little patience they'll get it done & have it working just as well as the SS system seems to....

hehehe

Just started work on it? Darn, then it's going to be at least a year or two before we see it on the market then :P

Well, I will be looking forward to seeing it when it arrives

Cheers

I don't think that their development cycle for this new motor will be quite as long as the first one. As they get more used to the product, like any manufacturer, you'll see faster development, and more technology incorporated for the same cost, or sometimes less.

Now if only the governing bodies of RC will come up with rules to allow the use of BL systems then we could REALLY see some development happen!

I have to agree about a smaller Novak speed control, but when compared to other ESC for brushless systems it is rather small.
