Back to the receiver back i think.
Darren, what booster are you trying? I tried a TQ and had all sorts of problems. Switched to the RC Dynamics one and the car has been perfect ever since. And that's with the KO 408 Rx some have said is problematic.

It was only a cheap chineses one from fleabay so wasnt exspecting a lot really. Thought I would try that method before going for the dynamics or novak one.

Worth a try for £5.00 i thought
Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get the rc dynamics one now.

Has anyone tried 1s without a booster or receiver pack since the update. Mine used to run the motor fine but just give me slow steering,Since putting 208 on the rs it wont do anything apart from lights on the speedo. Before was better as if the receiver pack run out mid race you would have been able to carry on with less steering and normal motor performance.

RS + TQ booster for about a year now
17.5, 13.5, 10.5 12th scale.
Never an issue.

I know a few locals with Novak boosters that had issues from v203.
Could be that issue has been solved now, if there has been an update, but that booster is huge compared to the TQ.

I have also noticed, that the servo is a bit quicker with an LRP SXXSS
More so that the RS with a rec pack.

With boosters it seems to be the combination of electrics. I run an RS, JR 3650 servo, KO 408s. TQ couldn't handle it, servo jittery round centre and transponder missed laps. Since switching to the RC Dynamics not a single problem. I also like the 6.0V the RC Dynamics one puts out, all the others supply a lower voltage. The 6 volts gives a faster servo.

The Novak booster problem was that the voltage drop under acceleration was hitting the voltage cutoff point on the booster. If Novak have lowered the cutoff voltage it may have fixed the problem but I don't know if they have or not.

That would seem to be the case.
All Futaba here, 4pk with BLS651
I found no tangible difference running a rec pack, which used just 50ma per 8mins.

Also ran an Octa 6.5 X12 at the Roar Nats last week with no issues on booster. Turned out to be a very drivable setup, smooth off the turns and lots of rip with the mild timing and turbo. Kept up with the 3.5 and 4's I was running with.

Randy,

Gotta thank you for giving me the starting high/low points for revs with my WGT. Finally settled on lower numbers but did end up with a wider band. Money!
