Randy, thanks for the v200 update.
so now i am trying to actually use it, and downloaded the 1/12 setup sheet by Kenny Lambert, and it had some conflicting info

the setup sheet indicated for 1s lipo 17.5 1/12, he used:
0 motor timing
full timing boost
10 turbo boost
=> 0 turbo delay

do you think this is a typo? (0 for turbo delay)

if the delay is zero, then was he just trying to effectively put the boost at greater than max?

thanks again for the help and great support.

Not a typ-o. This works on our smaller track (65x40) carpet. I was there to watch the testing of the 199 with similar set-ups. He tested with all sorts of different delays before choosing the zero delay. Second kicks in at the right location, however, gearing seems to be more critical.

The more turbo boost the longer it takes andn the harder it comes in. So the shorter the straight you will want to use less turbo boost.

My settings: 100 x 48 track / technical layout, no sweeper

17.5 1/12th 1s lipo

middle hole timing on motor
5 timing boost
15 turbo boost
0 turbo delay

Default Oval setups w/200

Can anyone give me a good starting point for 1 cell:

13.5 Tekin ... Track 450 Center line ... Concrete .... Capped Tires

Settings:

Drag Brake -

Brake Strength -

Limiter -

Neutral with -

Voltage Cutoff -

Motor Type- BL

Throttle Profile -

Timing Advance -

Dual or Sensored -

Timing Boost -

Turbo Boost -

Turbo Delay -

Motor Timing -

Right now I'm running a 74 Spur. At the track people are running a final drive of 1.33, so with that I will be running a 56 pinion which would give me 1.32. Any suggestion?

Thanks for any help.

thanks guys, so maybe the turbo boost is added at a constant rate (5 degrees/sec or something?) for a smooth transition. that makes sense.

when you state 'middle hole timing on motor' you mean the timing is midway between minimum and maximum (12degrees or so?)

also, if you switched from 17.5 to 13.5 (1s 1/12) would you expect change any settings or just rollout?

Hi i was wondering if anyone here has tried running the RS Pro with a mod motor in 12th scale LiPo? Looks like you guys are mainly running spec motors.

We have an unusually large track where we are experimenting with 4.5s and 4600 NiMhs, but they are dumping. I suspect that moving to a 3.5 lipo aint gunna be fast enuff or make run time. Anyone got any feedback?

Thanks,
Martin

No, second kicks in going down the straight...

Mid hole refers to Duo based motors.

Just roll-out.

enjoy

I've run down to a 4.5 with the regular RS but I would highly recomend the pro for mod. I made time with a 4.5 Novak motor and SMC 4000 pack with no problems indoors other than a really hot speedo.

If you guys are having problems dumping try running the newer V200 software and experiment with the new boost setting. This should let you run a smaller motor 6.5 or 5.5 and still get some decent speeds on the straight. Just start out really low on the turbo and tune from there (be careful).

LiPo is probably going to bring some driving technique back into mod because of the limited mAh available.

Cheers thanks Fred, Yeah ive run a 5.5 (NiMh) with an RS and it looked like it was getting on the hot side so i put a pro in for 4.5 (NiMh) and that seemed to be fine on the temps.
Was running one of the old feiago style motors though (which are meant to be inefficient) and wasnt making runtime with the NiMhs though.

Didnt really think turbo would be a good idea with a mod motor but man we have a long straight!

Now i'm just waiting for my local supplier to get in LiPos....

ok, so that suggests:
10 static on motor
5 boost
15 turbo
for 30 total

thanks!

You cannnot run "0" for turbo delay, the option doesn't exsist on any current software.

Some of team guys had a very very early beta version that allowed this to happen.

The Turbo is meant for straights and long WOT sections. If you feel that you need more timing for the infield sections that's motor timing and timing boost.

The lowest delay that is available is .5 seconds.

The turbo does "ramp" for lack of a better term but the delay time is the delay time. Less turbo doesn't get you less time.

Can someone shoot me the latest and greatest schematic for the RS 1S with booster setup?

From what I gather, I want to put the booster leads directly on the +/- leads of the battery and plug the other end into the bat port on the Receiver. From there set the RS up as a 1S unit. I'm not sure where the power switch is supposed to end up as: on or off. I don't want to smoke the new RS in my WGT car.
