Its one of two things.. either ESC or motor. Check the lead wires from ESC to motor. See if they work.

If you have another motor, connect it to ESC to test. If you don't have another motor, you can attach a volt meter to the leads that go to motor. When you pull trigger, see if any voltage registers.

If it's the ESC, which one should I buy to replace it and would work with the other parts I have installed?

Also, the X30re motor is a 30 turn motor, is this a good motor to be using?

You have a lot of choices as far as ESCs. You can spend anywhere from 40 to 200. Its up to your budge. Most ESC's over 100 are able to run both brushed and brushless motors.

Check the for sale section of this forum.. lots of ESC's are being sold dialy.

I'm not sure if the x30re is brushed or brushless

Also, does it matter whether it's a 30 turn or not? Also, I like to have reverse too. I would like to spend around 50 dollars for one. Any ideas?

What would be a good motor to drift with?

I finally got all of my electronics in my Porsche and it makes a very loud grinding type noise when I give it some throttle. The rear wheels spin a little and the front ones don't spin at all but the driveshaft is spinning. The gear mesh between the pinion and spur is good. Does anyone have any idea what I should look for as far as broken parts when I disassemble it?

Take a look at the diffs, they might be too tight.

I ended up taking apart my gear diff, and removed the spring entirely, and it is VERY SMOOTH now.

Thanks for the tip. Turns out I just had two wires soldered in the wrong places on the motor, I switched 'em and now it runs awesome. I just assumed it was a drivetrain problem because of the horrible noise. Ready to race on Sunday!

Ok, the CR has been available for a while now..Does anybody here actually race their CR on an asphalt track???

I only ask as Ive had mine for around 4 months and I am still disappointed with it. I have rebuilt it 4 times, changed front/rear diff settings, motors and springs etc and it still behaves on the track poorly.
Its noisy, glitchy and has no chance against similar models on a high bite track.

Any other racers care to comment?
