No offense taken on the comments about the CR'r.

That Atomic 1/12th scale car looks pretty slick. I have been contemplating selling one of my CR's ...i have one that has never even been driven. It is in perfect condition. I go back and forth ...if I did sell i'd get a 1/10 touring car. Maybe an Xray or Tamiya TC6.

-wow, you have accumulated a lot in a short time!
I started in the hobby back in '85ish (Tamiya Hornet). Took a break for about 10 years from about '90-2000 during most of my 20's. Got back in and have kept my collection at 5 vehicles ever since. It is fun building them, but I try to keep my RC addiction in check!

What did you get for your CR'r? -and what did you sell w/ it (i.e. ...a roller or w/ electronics)?

I have an extra CR'r that I've never driven ..it is in 100% perfect condition. Never been driven. Thinking of selling it for a TC6.1. curious what I can get for it. The body hasn't even been painted. -and is still in bag.

I bought the CR when it first came out. Couldn't get the Datsun 510 kit so I settled for the Levin drift kit and a set of grip tires. It was a fun build and a sweet looking chassis when i was done. I was the first at my local track that had one and it was to be raced along with the Tamiya Mini's. I don't remember the PN's but I remember it was something we called "the 3 nipples" that had a craptacular tendency to strip off and render the car RWD. I broke that part twice. My buddy when he got his CR broke his, and then another buddy who just got his busted the same thing again.
By this time Tamiya had just released the M-05 and I also had come across the VM2 (and it's Active Hobby twin the A210.) Since I was a die hard Tamiya fanboy and also getting tired of the CR's 'quirks' I sold it and went for the M-05 Pro.
CR's were getting a little more popular at my LHS so our Mini class was filling in quite nicely. We never had anything halfway organized with the AMB turned on but the next few weekends we had quite a few practice runs. The verdict at my LHS: CR beats M-03, M-05 beats all. The CR's were definitely faster on the straights, but my M-05 was able to maintain speed through the turns. I was pretty much able to drive it almost always on throttle. On a bigger track through, i'm sure the CR's would've been the dominant chassis.

That part you are referring to is prone to break, especially if you go with a motor that is faster than the recommended.
You can and should upgrade that plastic piece, i believe it is a diff outrive piece, with a metal one. Exotek and a few other manufacturers make the metal replacement.
...most cars have an achilles heal, this is tbe CR's ...but can easily be upgraded.

eR1c this was back in the early CR days. I love HPI/HB but I just happened to love Tamiya even more.

It appears that Tamiya is doing the same version of the Porsche Carrrera RSR on their TT-02 tub chassis

http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio...rera-rsr-58571

The body does not appear to be formed as nicely as the Porsche HPI body.
