I found the overall diameter to be the same between the Tamiya and HPI tires so I think the problem with the stock 510 setup is the fact that the rear rims are 3mm offset. Grab yourself a pair of 0 offset for the rears and it should be fine!!
hpi probably should have packed in the 0mm offset rims instead of the +3 rims

Also, will these fit the current Cup Racer rim selection or do we have to go to Tamiya wheels??
#4565 X-Pattern Radial Belted Mini Tire (B15-40)
#4560 X-Pattern Radial Mini Tire (B15-40)

Currently we have the #3630 Mini Star Wheels and we are in the process of trying to get some more of the OZ ish spoke/center dish mini wheels.

The Cup Racer wheels/tires are not compatible with the "standard" Mini tires/wheels

...the +3 offset looks way better and you can run the car with them, just not recommended for "spirited" runs or competition. If we had included 0 offset wheels then we'd have 510 guys telling us the rear end looks weird ..

you won't the absolute performance outta that novak motor with the castle esc - unless I'm mistaken, that's a sensorless esc and the novak motor is a sensored motor (the 2 can be used together)...

why not look into a castle sensorless motor in a package combo? any reason why the novak over the castle? not that there is anything wrong with the novak motor - just asking because you might get a better deal getting a package from either company

Yeah you would. The drifters are even less forgiving about the fender wheel gap than the bashers and racers.

Thumbs up

HPI Honda Civic EK9 225mm body w/ ABC mesh wheels and tires.

I have to admit the car was a pain to put together but with patience the car will go together well. The CR is very competitive against the ABC Genetics mini here where I race in Socal. I almost gave up on the car to buy an ABC but gave it time and I am very happy with the results of the car. I have only broken one front hub carrier by brushing up against the wall and have been racing with it for almost 3 months. Hope my set-up will help others....Good luck fellow CR owners and have fun...I know I am!

Here is my set-up for WCRC high bite asphalt track.

Front

Gear diff w/ black spring installed
Gold springs w/ 40wt oil
Gold sway bar
Top upper position on shock tower (stock)
No Spacer under front gear case (using 54mm tires)
4.5mm of droop under front arm
4mm ride height
-2 degrees of front camber
-1 degrees of front toe

Rear

Black springs w/ 40 wt oil
Black sway bar
Middle hole on rear shock tower (Carbon fiber)
No spacer under gear case (using 54mm tires)
4mm droop under rear arm
4mm ride height
3 degrees of rear toe (stock)
-2 degrees of camber

225mm wheel base
Mabuchi silver can 540 motor
FDR 4.0
Novak GTX esc
Novak 2 cell lipo cutoff module
Airtronics 737 servo
Airtronics 2.4 receiver

Yes, Carl's car is sick! The old school RS4 Civic looks great
And I agree with you also. Really have to pay attention to all the little details in the CR but once finally finished the work will pay off.

Oh boy, ok, here we go. I'll try my best,

Front

Gear diff w/ black spring installed
HPI SHOCKS w/ 40wt oil HPI blue spring.
STOCK SHOCK MOUNT (stock)
No Spacer under front gear case (using 55mm tires)
ABC HOBBY TIRES
5mm ride height
-2 degrees of front camber
0 degrees of front toe
Caster all the way back
2mm spacer under upper hinge block
Arms drooped

Rear

Ball diff w/ pro4 gear, tight.
HPI SHOCKS w/ 40wt oil TAMIYA RED spring.
Inner hole on rear shock tower (Carbon fiber)
No spacer under gear case (using 55mm tires)
ABC HOBBY TIRES
Rear arms level
5mm ride height
2.5 degrees of rear toe
-2 degrees of camber

CRX carbon chassis set
210mm wheel base
Mabuchi silver can 540 motor
FDR 3.9
Orion 2400 pack
Tekin esc
Hitec mini servo
Spektrum 2.4 receiver
40mm fan
all weight moved forward

My Cup racer option spring set came in so I want to go back to the HPI Cup arcer shocks again soon. 1/10 springs on the car a little too firm- a little too much tire hop right now.

Here it is in action;
