I've never been one to bash the parts supply practice of HPI, but this is getting crazy..

AndyH - any ideas???
We do our best to encourage and inform our distributors on our latest parts and what they should order. The actual orders and quantities are up to them. I believe HRP distributing has all the parts that we have for the Cup Racer. And last time I checked the other distributors had also ordered them.

I just checked and we have good stock on them, so they just need to order them.

We can't order directly from HRP right? The stores are so reluctant on stocking the parts for the cup racer. It's nice that stormers is carrying them, but the demand for some of those parts are there so they should order some more imo.

I only know b/c I have a real 510 and want to swap my panasports for wat's. But they are soooooo expensive. At least I do have the true racing pana's which also fetch a pretty penny

You know, if a local hobby store brings a kit in, I expect them to carry the spare parts for it. It seems that this is not the case for many LHS these days and it's sad. They only bring the kits in to sell, then ignore support for it. And they wonder why they are losing sales to online retailers... I just hope this cup racer will not follow the same fate as the RS4mini did.

Default One of the main reasons......

I rejoined this hobby was because, I thought things had evolved to a point that I would not have to worry about my LHS carrying the parts I need. Boy was I wrong, Fortunately, I live in an area where there are a few locals that I have access to, however, if they're not going to carry the model, they d___ sure don't supply the parts. Fortunately, internet shopping for the most part safe and secure. I can recall purchasing an obscure kit a few years ago, with very limited support. I've purchased a few RTR's and did not have to deal with the issue. I owned a 510 in the day, and wanted to own of these for my first kit. Seems as if not much has changed.......

Default F&D

I acquired a '69 510, as my first car. I received it in '85, from the original owner (38K in mileage). I did not invest a whole lot into it. Rims tires, some engine work. However, I "enjoyed" that car. It was that beige cream color. A wreckless driver ran me into the curb (not racing), and bent the frame. At that point my days as it's owner were limited. I should have kept it.
Thanks for asking.....

Hahaha. I get that a lot. Funny that the most common response I get when at the gas station etc is either "that was my first car" or " that was the car I learned to drive on"

They made soooo many of them. Unfortunately no one cared about them and most are rotted into nothing now.

Mine is extremely fun to drive. The L16 was swapped out for a Rebello built 2.3L L20

Hopefully my RC car will perform well when I get all the electronics.

Any photos of your old baby????
