For plastic wheels I would try to match the yellow on the "olio/Fiat", "Bilstein" or "Britax" logos. You need to use paint for plastic models not polycarbonite Lexan. Tamiya TS paints looks like the ones to use. Maybe TS 16.

Great, thanks, I'll take them along to the LHS and pick some up.

I would've put on a layer of white after the reds to seal it and make it less transparent, but it is still nice. Nothing beats the good ol Jäger as an aperitif

Nice GryphunRacing. Any plans on doing a Valiant scheme?

I first sprayed with a little shadow to give a bit of dirty appearance (every seen a "real" race car spotless?) then sprayed with the proper Tamiya orange (forgot the number but have it around the house somewhere), then backed it with Sprint White.

Thinking about it since I need another porsche body as backup although I have a full z body I dont plan on using. (I can get the Valiant decals from the Tamiya Tamtech GT-01 series. What to do....what to do....

I got it. Just posted cause on the first pic one can see the number plate stickers on the side of the car glimmering through, and I personally hate it when my ducktapes, wires of the LEDs and such can be seen from the outside - which might be the case, if the stickers on the outside can be seen from the inside, or even not

I bought a used Datsun body that was painted with yellow only and the color is too pale to my likings and it's just too transparent. But to admit it, I'm too lazy right now to seal it with white...

Bart,

Can you tell me if you are able to have shocks in stand up position with the Stratos?

...In regards to spraying to make it look like a real (used) race car, ...i find that if you just drive it it tends to get a light coating of dirt/dust in just the right places!

By the way, just purchased my 2nd CR'r. Since I race mine competively and they are such a great deal and are being discontinued ...got me the 240z kit!

photos coming once I get it built!

Smile Want one, actually 2!! Really bad.

Hi,

I'm new to the hobby and this forum. I just got into rc a6 months ago and found the CR and fell for it, hook line and sinker! My brother inlaw and I ordered 2 from our LHS but they didn't turn up. Back order on the drift kit. Does anyone know of any dealers near Toronto that have stock??? I know it's a long shot but worth a try. We are willing to do a trip across the U.S border to get them. I have the 510 body kit already. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Stu.

Not quite sure I understand, ..you can't order a CR'r online? Why do you have to drive somewhere?? I mean it is great to support the local hobby shop ...which I do quite a bit, but if you can't get what you need from them, then just order the car online.

he said he wants to get the kit even if he has to drive to the US, for obvious reasons; one being he'll be able to make sure, that he gets what he wanted. and maybe he hadn't had that good experiences with his LHS

Yes, you are right. I'm being told that my lhs can get it but this is going into the second week of waiting. I will find out tomorrow for sure. Otherwise it'll be ordered through Tower Hobbies I guess. Wanted a Porsche and 510 but I'll have to settle for the 240 kits. Thanks anyway.
