I am really liking my Sav÷x 1251 so far. Absolutely no problems. They cost around $60. It does require and ever so slight mod. The area on the servo mount that you screw the servo down needs to be shaved down ever so slightly. I really can't even call this a mod because it two 2 minutes with a X-Acto blade. 75% of the guys at our track are running these servo's and none has told me of any problems. It comes under a couple different names, Sav÷x, Align, Spektrum, and Orion.

Also if you do go with the Sav÷x 1251 and need a hand with the mod let me know. It seriously is very easy, but I can give you a hand if you need. It is also a low profile servo so you can mount it standing up or on it's side.

Default Good motor

We decided to put a CC short course sidewinder combo in the Cup Racer. It has a 4-pole rotor for more torque and is rated at 3800kv(on sale for $99). Works nice with stock pinion. No overheating, but it was only 50 deg out. Extra torque is just what a Cup Racer needs. Right now running on nimh batteries until I find a good lipo that fits.

+1 on the Sav÷x 1251. I installed mine standing up. Modding the servo is simple to get it to fit in the servo mounting piece. Just need a little filing.

Haha! That's sweet. Somebody told me that wouldn't be a good idea to put that kind of system in there. They told me I would break Diffs left and right. Anyway. I'm done my build and looking forward to racing on Sunday! With a Novak 17.5 whatever that means.

Do they make steel suspension mounts? More specifically, the B Mount? This same piece bent 3 times on 3 different cars today.

Or is there a remedy someone can recommend to reinforce this puppy?

i feel your pain...i've bent this part more times then i've broke the front drive shaft cup - the last time i bent mine (and the last time i've run the CR), it cost me a 2nd place finish at a HPI Challange

as of the last time i looked, i don't believe anyone is making one of these parts for the cup racer...however, you might wanna scan thru ebay for something - maybe GPM makes a replacement part

I'm having issues keeping my chassis flat.

with the screws loose its flat but when I tighten them up
the chassis is tweaked.
Not sure but I think its the motor mount.

I just bought extra plates and doubled them up. No problems since

Yeah could be. New motor mount is cheaper then a new chassis plate I suppose.
