Default sweet

Your porsche looks great and nice scale rc. I like the wide rear flares with the deep rear wheels. The 73 body is nice and I always liked the front air intake but I like your 930 turbo tail better than the duckbil style. I have worked on a few porsches before but mostly v8 conversion cars. My favorite porsche is either the 959 or 935 . Both are sweet in there own way. Good job and hope my replica datsun 510 comes out as good.

GiantZack, looks like a nice setup you have ...kind of hard to see, your photos are a tad small.

69bugzilla,
yeah, i've seen some of the v8 conversions. it's not a bad option, -nice power and a lot less $$ than porsche engines. I just had my 930's engine rebuilt w/ all high performance parts, had head work done, higher performance cam, exhaust, larger turbo, etc.... ...it sounds pretty mean and is a rocket!

can't wait to see your 510 (both). -take your time w/ each, it will be worth it when complete.

i'll upload some photos w/my 1:1 once the weather gets better.

I'm new to the electric scene and have a Cup racer on the way! Plan to put a Novak 13.5T brushless in the car. My question is what/how is a "boosted" esc. Please explain

Default boosted

A boosted esc is one that has adjustable motor timing which ads some rpm to a motor but from what I've read it decreases low end torque.

Default Boosted esc

Thnaks for clarifying what a boosted esc meant. I have 2 esc's that can be boosted...just a few clicks on the programming card and voila way better power!

How do these cars handle when you have a 13.5 brushless setup in them? Do they have a tendency to torque alot to one side when on throttle due to the shaft drive?

Is there consensus on what wheelbase is the one to run. Either 225mm or 210mm? I am looking for a new body and am wondering if I should go to a 210mm instead of 225mm.

Thanks

Bodies are the killer for this M sized chassis cars. all the 210 bodies are ridiculously priced. I run the 225 only because I refuse to pay $45 to $60 for an unpainted mini body.
I race my CR so my bodies are not used for modeling. Using the 225 wb allows me to use the cheaper HPI Miatas and civics ($20). I can't justify spending twice as much for a mini body than for my touring car CTR sedan body.

to reference your question. the 210 size should give you quicker reactions, ideal for a technical track. the 225 body would benefit in a larger flowing track.

Both wheelbases can work equally on any track.

HTH.

Thanks, thought I would ask just incase one wheelbase just didn't work for this car.

...you haven't been looking hard enough,
here are links to 210mm bodies that WILL fit our CR's nicely, ....for $25-$35 (go on eBay and you can probably find these same bodies for even less):

$25
Mini Cooper 210mm body
http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/7206/

$30
Lancia 210mm body
http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/7214/

$34.99
Porsche 210mm body
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYJZ8&P=Z

Toyota-Various
here is a link to 8 (yes 8) different Toyota 210mm bodies all for $34.99 or under:
http://www.abchobbyusa.com/toyota.aspx

..there are probably more bodies that will fit, but these are the ones that I am certain will fit our 210mm wheelbase.

nice finds.

I meant the final cost after they have been shipped and in one's possession? minus the porsche (tower's free shipping if you are a member) and cooper.
