Its noisy, glitchy and has no chance against similar models on a high bite track.

what is it doing on the track?? that might help

mine works pretty good the last time I ran it - the noisey-ness is because of the meta gears, shaft drive and the 48P gears...

and I know a group that pretty much ONLY runs the CR and they all handle like they are on rails...

Hi K,

Maybe I'm too used to my HB Cyclone and its smoothness. I just feel that the CR is twitchy even with a Sport Tuned motor and was hoping I built it wrong. Ive rebuilt it and its still not much better.

Im using the rear metal shaft cup holder on the front and the stiffest gear diff spring in the front too.

I will have another rebuild this week and take it to the track on Saturday, if its still the same, I will sell it and buy a F104

well the car will actually be a little more twitchy then a cyclone - smaller wheel base and narrower chassis...i had a hi-speed digital servo in mine, and it was very twitchy - needed to dial a lot of steering expo out of mine...

i can't remember what kind of oil i got in mine, but I got the hardest springs in the front and the 2nd hardest (medium, i guess) in the rear - these are from the optional kits...I'll have to pull mine out and see what I got in it...

It's mostly all about tires tires tires with this car

You haven't listed your set up. Spell it all out and I think someone can get you going. I ran my car last weekend and it is seriously fast and nimble and I'm really looking forward to the ABC mini series that will soon kick off next month

Here is a race with my cup racer from last year if you haven't already seen;

Also some good news regarding the plastic front input cup. We've developed an alloy hard anodized cup that will be here late August!

Great news about the input cup Mike, everyone has waited soooo long for somebody to make one.

My basic set up is:
Pink springs on front
Blue springs on rear
Hard spring in front diff
23t Tamiya Super Stock
Tyres: HPI standard CR on Porsche rims or Sweep 33/40
30w shock oil
Short wheelbase option as using Porsche body

I will keep trying different set ups and see whats best.

Thanks for the help guys.

Hi guys!

I have a problem with my CR. When I am going to tighten the wheels, the plastic cups is being twisted by the pin that is going through the shaft and cup. What do I do wrong?

Shocks looks good- same as mine except I run 40wt with 3 hole piston.
My droop is set with arms at level (make sure it is equal left to right).
Rear toe should be at 3* with the motor you are running.
Front caster all the way back.
I use 36 degree Atomic tires with medium insert. These tires are awesome and handle like if they were Sorex
You may need to find a bigger wing also.

Wheel screw you are using is too long maybe... may be hitting the drive shaft.

Mike,

Any idea what price those aluminum cups will go for? Planning to order all your accessories at once. Just got my HR cups so I should be good to go to run this car hard. Looking forward. Thanks for finally making them.

Well,
I just got back from the track and am pleased with the CR finally.
I changed the front gear diff spring back to the softest, changed the wheelbase back to 225mm and used my Sweep 33/40 tyres.

It seems much quieter after the rebuild and smoother.

Only raced against my friends M chassis, both with 23t brushed, and the CR was much quicker through the corners.
