SMC cells are awesome.....I only run LIPO (SMC) but when I ran NiMh I always ran SMC matched cells.....Trinity also has good cells...But first choice would be SMC

is lipo going to give me longer run times?
looks like 4600 cells give 7 to 7.4 min runs and 5400's are breaking the 9 min mark.

what size lipo would i need to go to break that 10 min marker?

I am pretty sure a 5000 liop would get you over 10.....But would depend on the class you were running....21.5..17.5...13.5..10.5 probably mod not sure....I run VTA w/21.5 and even at 8 min I dont think I have ever recharged more than 2200mah into the pack to top it off......

I run 4800 Orion Platinum 1 LiPo in 13.5 touring car and I get 45 minute run times at least.

In 17.5 touring car on carpet, I'm using about 2000-2200 mAh in the new-for-2009 ROAR standard 6 minute races, so I really doubt you're getting 45 minute run times.
