I just drove my TA03R-S for the first time, no shell and OMG... wow. Such precision compared to my similarly heavy Sprint2Sport, just unreal how cleanly it handles. I think I love the short-wheelbase. So utterly predictable in slides. I really love this car now.

Now about copying the Lancia & 911 GT1 shells.

Also is there a way to increase the front ride-height? Mine is extremely low in the front (it scrapes)

The Lancia shell is available at a limited run

Body
http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio...ally-037-84355

Wheels
http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio...-58278-0444140

You can also use the Porsche 911 GT2 body (993 turbo) which is still available as limited run as well and same wheelbase

http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio...sche-911-49387

For wheels though you will need some +6 to +9 mm offset. Original car came with 30mm width rear wheels and tyres. Which can still be found but if you plan on running it, those wide rubber tyres are not that great

911 GT1 however is a rare one. You'd have to convince team blue grove to copy it

Thanks for all the info! I didn't know I could get the Taisan Porsche direct from TamiyaUSA, at a great price no less.

I would love to have TBG copy my 911 GT1 shell, however it is cutout. Unpainted, un-used. I wonder if they would have an objection to that.

Only issue with the re-issued Porsche body is there are no decal sheets that come with the body.

Default My TA03R-S Update

Here is where I am at with my TA03R-S

I wasn't a big fan of the black with the red and black stripes so I went with a white car and the decal sheet is going to look like this:

Im working on restoring another decal sheet and then off to printers they go.

Has any one tried the following:

1. Use a 10x5x4 flanged bearing with the 15 x 10 x 4 bushing on inner axle
2. Use a 12x5x4 standard bearing for out axle

This combination will allow you to install current 5 mm axle shaft CVDs

Jealous of the decal sheets! I have everything to convert my TA03 to short wheelbase, even the rare belt. But whats stopping me is the decal sheet.

Dan,

Its not a decal sheet, its a digital image of the sheet. Im still refining a few details on it and firefox user is also helping me out. The guy I use prints on clear vinyl and charges around $20 a sheet. So whom ever needs or wants this sheet, let me know.

I am also working on a separate file that just has the window trimming, head light, tail light and radiator grills. That is another route if someone does not want all the livery

Word to the wise..

If you plan on using the original 30 mm rear BBS wheel (still available from Tamiya), you are limited to one 30 mm tyre which is Tamiya's slick (still available) The HPI 30 mm tyre is discontinued. There are a lot of drift tyres available but Im not into drifting.

After doing some research I came across the Vaterra 30 mm rear tyres. So I ordered both front and rear from Amain. Unfortunately the bead does not sit on the rim tightly.

I tried securing it with rubber bands and they still will not seat correctly. So don't waste your time, unless you plan on using their rims
