I just picked up my first Tamiya kit. Found this guy on the bay. Added HPI RS4 PRO shocks and a Castle 4600. Haven't had a chance to run it yet because I can't fit any of my lipos in it.

I've been doing some research and it looks like everybody just does what they can to mount a lipo. I've been looking for the quick release battery holder and playing with velcro and tape to no avail. The pack I have to fit in my old HPI doesn't work because they are square and the one lipo shaped like a nicad is too long, that old chestnut. If any one knows of a lipo that fits the stock holders (134mm) or of a tried and true mod i'd appreciate the info. Here are some pics. Porsche body not shown because of repairs.

Tamiya PN 53261. I use this then use 12mm strapping tape to hold down the battery.

This piece here should be usable. I put it in the car just for fitting purposes but didn't secure it. It clears everything! Just never got around to mounting it.

MST PN 210012. Mst Battery Holder.

Thanks for that. At the moment I've cut open a lipo hardcase and am re wrapping it like a nicad with endcaps. I'll check out the holders.

I modded my lipo to fit. Ditched the hard case and wrapped it in nicad shrink wrap.

Seeing if the lipo would fit with end caps on.

Here you can see how much the hard case sticks out fron the holders. the other end is flush with the inside of the battery holder. It's 5mm too long.

Pretty cool to see the internal lipo stuffed into a shotgun tube so it could fit properly. I already taped in a shorty lipo but would have preferred something more secure.

Oh there is but it would be easier to use the part number on the belt along with the measurements you take so they can figure it out. Lol at least thats what I will do when I run out of belts
