Anyways, back on topic, anyone happen to have a spare set of F/R CF shock towers laying around?
Is there any information on this guy's suspension setup? It's obvious the car is not CS or front-VC equipped, but it kicks out mid-corner quite a bit. Mine doesn't do that on the kit setup.

You can try sending him a private message on Youtube. Might have to use google translate though.

Sweet! Did you order yours from eBay? I noticed there were 2 listings for them, one was $190 and one was $220. I ordered the $190 one.

Originially I had a (very) old TA03F Pro I was building up and was buying parts here and there until I started my build. But when i really started looking at my parts, i realized it would probably be alot cheaper just getting a new kit. (To date I probably spent more on my TA03 than my VDF!)

Anyways, things I noticed about my Pro D Spec:
-my old Pro had the aluminum steering rack. This new one has plastic steering links.
-no decals included with the kit!? I'm a sucker for decals, especially Tamiya and TA03F decals
-the included tires aren't very good drift tires. Tamiya Type-D's are too grippy.
-unless you're using round pack lipos or still using NiMH batteries, the stock battery holder is useless for newer hardpack lipos.

Not sure how familiar you are with the TA03 chassis but there's it's both fun and frustrating finding parts and hop ups for the car. The car has been discontinued for a while now so some things just don't exist anymore or you really have to look for them. Alot of things are still up on eBay but I'll be damned if I pay $120 for shocks! Almost feel bad for wanting to run a collectors item.

Theres a few places out there you can still get hop ups for the TA03. Asiatees<-- They have all the aluminum goodies but no more of the CF stuff. Integy<--they actually have very little for the TA03 but what they do have is cool. The saddlepack chassis gives you more options on what batteries you can use or how to mount them.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Good luck!

Yes ebay for 190us$ for me to!
I hate the philips screws on the Tamiya sets so i ordered an titan screv set with allen screws to the TA03 and an carbon batter holder and the TA03R Carbon chassie tonight.
Have wanted one of theese for about 4-5 years now and finally got to it.

Any other tips on options i need?

The car is old so the plastics are more fragile than whats used on cars nowadays. So you might want to look into getting alloy goodies.

The TA03 can use normal touring car shocks but the only difference is you need the long plastic ball end piece for the bottom part of the shock shaft. The TA03 was a bit odd in this way for making the suspension arms the way they were, so the physical shock length was longer.

I would just recommend the TRF dampers. You can get them these days for $55-60 shipped and they are the best in the business.

You can use those but just use the "V2" parts that came with the kit.

Dan, any hop ups on your Ta03?

I think i will keep the Gmade shocks.
All TA03F has TRF and they all looks the same.

I have a couple of TA03R's, but on the main one I'm going to run, it has:

Tamiya Graphite Chassis
TRF Dampers
Front Tamiya Aluminum C-Hubs
Front Foam Bumper
Swaybars
Lightweight Kingpins

Probably forgetting a few other small things.

Looks like tamiya ditched their "R" type carrying box for one of those newer flat boxes. The black carrying box was probably my favorite part of the ta03f drift spec.

I was surprised my D Spec came with a plastic steering bell crank but my old school Pro has the aluminum unit.

Dammit Dan, (hey that would be a cool name), I was hoping you may have had CF shock towers. Maybe ones for sale even
