Thumbs up Hobby Stores

If you are ever in Orlando FL go by and visit Superior Hobbies and talk with Ken. They run a top notch hobby store down there.

512,Toybits: I got my 03FS running, just waiting for the bodyshell... actually waiting for the $ to buy the body... I think there's no other bodyshell that will fit an 03FS except the Porsche 911 GT1 and the Corolla WRC Rally Car...

Any ideas?

Hi

Just wondering what buggy wheels would fit the Ta03's. Have anybody tried that yet? How about one of those monster or stadium truck wheels?

I got a set of aluminum arms from Dongskie here that alleviates the clearance problems for off-road running a bit. While looking around for rally setups in the forums, It hit me, why not try bigger tires? All those clearance problems should go away with bigger tires right?

I also went back to page 2 and looked at those dual motor posts. With dual motors plus Bigger tires, I could have a 03-based monster truck!!!

I'm using an F1 pro reverse ESC from LRP. This is supposed to have no motor limit. So using two johnson motors in parallel should not be a problem.

Now please, somebody shoot down this idea before I start working on it.

Earlier (last year, actually) on this thread, somebody posted about trying the hatchback bodies for the 03FS/RS ' s. Try it.

Cool

Bitoy,

I'm not mad at all, I just didn't understand what you were saying and that's all.

But I am mad at Rogers Cable. My internet access just got up again after being down for over two weeks......

Atlas

Go back one page and look for Cube's posts... There is a third party heatsink for the 03. I don't know if it is available in your area.

Default Ta03 Heat sink

Atlas,

If you are willing to buy from a Canadian site, you can get a heat sink at www.greathobbies.com part no. TAM53275
for $21.99 Canadian. That would work out to be around $14.00 or so American.

Buy now while our (Canadian) dollar continues to decline in value!!!!

Dudes....

We fell way off the first page!!!! Even a post entitled "Screw Strength" was way ahead of us. Let's get this back to the proper place where people can see it.

Are all TA03s really narrow? have you tried hand fitting A-arms from other models to the 03? which arm works best?

I always thought my 03 is longish... until I put it side by side with a TRF414.

crookedlawyer

It's all part of the ebb and flow of this thread! Seems like every couple months, there are a couple new people that get '03's and inject new life to it.

Dayten

You racing this weekend? I'll be out there doing the ironman triathalon again! Woo hoo!

I will be soon getting ready to get my 03 out. I did very well against 04 cars with it and I still was running black Sanyo 1700 SCR's and a not so good p2k that was slow in my normal touring car. I was lazy and didn't buy a new motor for my 03 and at the TCS I was leading the A Main in GT2 and was ran down due to my old motor and really old batteries. Still did well considering I was the only 03 in the A main. Car is still competitive if I put some good stuff in it for a change.

I plan on doing so mods to it really soon. I would like to possible turn it into a TRF as I have everything but the graphite chassis for it. I have a Integy saddlepack chassis but it is not legal for the TCS series so it is useless to me at this time.

Tamiya makes a shorter damper stays for the 03 so that you can use bodies that have a lower profile like corvettes. You would have to put spacers inside your shocks there by lowering car. With a one-way the carries even more speed in the corners.

I have a slight problem. Well not a major issue. I have a TB01 and TA03R. Both a tricked out some. I plan to run some TCS races in our area. Which car would you run and why?

Both seem to handle very well. I like both cars. The TB01 is very nice but I had to dremel the chassis out in the back in order to get the pinions I want to run on. At the TCS race they might not allow that in GT2. It is only to get the pinion on and off and for no other reason than that. I like to run either car in GT1 or GT2 as they are different and in my area everyone runs the TA04.

At our last TCS I had tha only TA03R in the A main and actually had the lead for a few laps til I was taken out. My car was a tad slow but I had in junk motors and even worse batteries and still did very well.

I only have the money to get one of them ready as I need a receiver, servo and speedo. I want to work on only one because sometimes if you keep going back and forth neither one works for you.

So what do you guys think? I do like both cars alot.
