The white belts are more flexible than the black ones, because they are a different material (which is also quite crap in terms of longevity) that's the only reason why they sort of give a better efficiency. I've been running both types of belts and frankly can't tell the difference on the track, that's why i use black belts, they last a lot longer.
I agree efficiency due to friction would be fairly negligible but it does exist everytime the teeth engage and disengages against each other as the pulley rotates. The biggest benefit is wear (an effect of friction) and weight (effect spool up). I used to regularly chew through the aluminium pulleys on the Pro2 centre one-ways before I went to a GRM delrin item.

Well the TA05 mod certainly sounds good for me, given that I typically race at medium/large style tracks with low turn Mod Motors.

I'll have to get myself some.

The holes that the screws go through are a little further out from center than a stock 415 oneway pulley. Hopefully I can get some pictures taken soon of my new ride. Onroad season isn't coming soon enough.
I tried last evening. I ended up with 4mm holes on the pulley for the screw mounting. I enlarged each hole with different bits until i reached 4mm. Any larger, the holes might have been busted...

Now i got white diff pulleys on my MSX, which I might never feel the difference...

I was just running through the R10 stock listing and noticed a 18t pulley for the TA05 from Tech Racing. I was thinking the Tamiya 05 pullies and the larger centre pulley, would make a good combo, less belt wrap.

I guess the only factor would be could you back off the belt tensioners enough to fit the bigger centre pulley?

hhmmmm... I don't know, but I think I might give that a try. I think that combo would be really good if you can get the right tension. If they don't I can play with them on my 05, no loss.........

I'll order the parts tonight and see how they go together next week when they get here.

Easy installation. No need to mess with the 415 spool. Just enlarge the existing mounting holes on the ta05 pulley.

Haven't ran them, but I don't think I am pro enough to feel it... Looks really good though...

There are rumours here and there...

But I guess that they would probably use the MSX,the version used in the TITC with some slight modifications. Tamiya has been doing their R&D constantly,so won't' be surprise a new cars suddenly pops up.

Okay, so if you leave the 415 Alloy pulleys on the car and put on the TA05 White pulleys, you achieve an internal ratio of 2.25 so I've heard. I thought that the main advantage was having a higher internal ratio (2.25 as opposed to 2.1875) so if you had the 18T Tech Racing Pulley, that would bring your internal ratio down to 2.00 if you use the TA05 Diff Pulleys, or 1.94 if you used the 415 Diff Pulleys.

Why would you want to use the 18T TA05 Pulleys on the 415 if the IR is lower??

Quick answer : no you cannot, I use an 18T pulley and had to get longer belts for it.

let me think, if you're not running low wind motors (for example 19T like me) then you'll see an advantage because there is much less belt wrap with an 18T pulley. As a matter of fact, if you can gear a low wind mod properly for the track, you'll see an advantage in mod too.
