I'll convert both of my 415's to that bulkhead, the rest is all good. Anyone got part numbers?

Alonso: Don't waste your time gettin a tamiya spool if you only need it for TCS. I know for a fact that you will be at least 1/2 a sec a lap slower as TCS is at castle hill again.

BTW: hara's own words today... no spool for fairy meadows

Thanks for the info Re: the car stands.

I'm really p*ssed of with the new 415 spool!

The derlin outdrives are worse than useless, I melted two in two laps tonight running on carpet with foams. Should I be running 46mm shafts with it even thought i'm using the original 415 suspension?

Anyone else had problems with it?

I think foam tires on carpet would beat the crap out any spool. foams on carpet have alot of traction . I have never tried anything myself other then a doff or oneway on the carpet so i dont know my spool has only been used outside (its not a tamiya spool either)

Default shock question

Can anyone tell me if the Tamiya Flourine coated dampners, part #53571, will fit on the TRF415 or EVO4?

Should. All the aluminum shocks will.

I agree about the spool on carpet. Carpet is very tough on the drivetrain due to the high traction and usually tight turns on a carpet course. Was this in stock, 19t, or mod? Also, if you just tap a corner, you could easily destroy a plastic spool.

Not that I have run the new Tamiya 415 spool (I sold my 415 to my friend), but I ran my new Tamiya EvoIV spool outdoors today in Stock class. It held up very good with no signs of visible wear on one side. On the other side it shows alittle sign of wear from when I tapped a flapper(corner). But it's nothing to worry about. I also posted my fastest TQ time and new track record in stock class as well. So I think this spool has helped out in the performance of my car. Previous TQ record was with my Yokomo BD. Also, I don't get any chatter from this spool as I do when I use steel spools.

Delrin outdrives? Sounds like a spool a race with my 7/8 turns

The flourine coated shocks are standard with the original 415 and will fit all of the tamiya on-road touring cars

is not wanting chatter noises a personal preference or a performance issue?

Heya Guys.

Ok i have had an issue with my Speedtech spool diff in my 415.

Basically after its 3rd run, i very lightly rubbed a board on the outside of our esses only to turn in for the next corner to spin out. I pulled off right away and found that i had snapped the outdrive in half!! Its snapped almost clean where the slots are.

Any ideas why it snapped so easliy, it wasn't a hard rub at all either as the car wasn't even pushed offline.

Thanks.

Glenn

ps it was carpet, 19t on rubbers.

When running a spool anytime one tire is forced to rotate at a different rate than the other tire the weakest part in the front drive train will break. In the HPI Pro 4 it was the bevel gear. On this car the weakest part is probably the outdrive. It doesn't take much!
