Randy, your setups now up on my site.
Also as a general question to everyone, whats the advantage of running the narrow rear ends? I always thought it best to run the car as wide as possible, but it seems like a lot of setups I've looked at (and the release of the X series of suspension blocks, ie XA, XB etc) that people are going narrower still.
Like I already mentioned I've been running my car as wide as i can (always a D on the R/R block), what would happen if i were to say, drop to a B, whilst also keeping the same toe settings?
Thanks in advance
Ed

Thanks for putting the setup on your site, make it easier for people to access. When I start going to Tamiya USA's track I'll get you a setup for there as well.
The narrower end will be quicker reacting, although not as stable. This is why I went with the Mazda 6 body in that setup, it's a pretty stable body compared to the Losi Alfa I normally run. I just mounted a new Yokomo Stratus that I'll be trying on tuesday, as well as the flipped front blocks.

What range of teeth on the pinion side would you go to save your self changing the spur(62dp)

Thanks Neil. I used that Plastruct stuff that is found in hobby shops. It's .5mm thick. The shields work very well, too. The diff stays nice and clean .

In all honesty, it depends on what I'm looking for in the gearing. If I feel i need to change the spur to get the required gearing, i'll change the spur. I have to say though, it does help being able to change both to fine tune the gearing, never have an excuse to not get the gearing right...
Looking at my chart, i would say a pinion change usually changes the FD ratio by ~0.3.
I've got a range of pinions from 26-38, with spurs from 100-105.
Gives FD ratios 8.834 - 5.757.
I could do with some smaller pinions in all honesty, would mind bring up some 9's on the FD, either that or slightly larger spurs (say 106 - 110, if they exist)
your not going to be at maritime on thursday are you?
If you want i can email you a gearing chart i did for a mate who runs the FK, also for 64dp. would help in deciding wha gearing.
later
Ed

Tamiya driver, how hard was it to make those on your Stika machine? and can you make some extra ones and bring it to Novak race?
