Go to your local hobby shop and see what cars they have in stock and then go to your track and look at what everyone is running. I run a xray t2 007 its a great car and easy to drive but my hobby shop dont carry parts for my car so i have to order online but i make sure i have extra spare parts. Another car i will get is a tc5 because my hobby shop have parts for it. But to tell you the truth all the latest cars out at this moment are real good cars, all of them have a good and bad side so its really up to you have fun!

It would be wrong of me to suggest a car without knowing your background and the tracks you intend to race at, so +1 with above, get yourself to a local meeting and see what chassis is popular.

having a popular chassis will enable you to share set ups with others, and hopefully source parts quicker =)

Also, take into account your budget and stick to it as best as you can.

hope that helps =)

durable tub, 2 different front shock mounting styles, plenty of hop-up options and shares parts with many Tamiya cars you're bound to find parts when needed...

the TA05 is also a competitive club racing platform suitable for many classes from 540, stock and super stock (doest cut the mustard in modifed)
