Default Brushless Motor questions

so im trying to figure out this whole brushless thing.
i was looking for something in the 12-13t range for a brushed motor.
but im thinking that long term, brushless is better?
longer run times... less maintainance...

but i have no idea what is what.
seems like the higher the number, the faster the motor?
what should i be looking for?

same as brushed lower turn = faster motor = less run time
a havoc 8.5 is around $140 and it comes with the speed control and an 8.5 turn motor which will be pretty fast.
