hi guys,

I just want to know what is a good cordless hand driver power tool to use? I noticed some of the factory drivers are using a power tool, this is good to prevent carapal tunnel synd. and makes life easier when your fixing your car between heats. I saw them using this long elongated(8-10inches) battery operated red tool, just dont know the brand and where to buy it, hope you guys have an idea where can i get it. ty in advance

This is the one I use. It is not too expensive and is lithium Ion so it lasts a long time between charges and has good power. I use it on my offroad and touring car stuff.

I've seen that skil before and it works well. I use a dewalt: http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/to...productID=2739
It has a torque limiting feature that I love.When in a hurry I set it to about 6 or 7 and let it rip. Hardly ever strips out plastic. And the bendable handle is great.

Honestly, nobody should wear that for RC, instead you want change tires fastly in parking lot (even nor conventional rc track).
Just like on real F1, Indy or Endurance races.

No tool belt for me. The Skil is small and its lightweight. I keep it in my tool box and charge it about once a month. Best thing is its 40 bucks.

Now if I was doing commercial work I might buy a more expensive one but bang for my dollar and to odd jobs at the house and work on my R/C stuff its killer.

No tool belt. There are times that my RSI kicks up and its hard to hold a screw driver, nevermind operate it. This just aids in the hobby. The cool part is that the new integy driver bits plug right into it...

wrong forum, I realize.. but this thread drew my attention.....

I heard at last years fuel sedan nats - a rule was enforced regarding power or cordless tools in the pit area. (they weren't allowed.) Although, I cannot locate any such rule.... unless its staring me in the face, seriously, I can't find any wording.

Does anybody know about this??

Any idea for the reason for the (retarded) ruling? For people like myself with RSIs and CTS, tools like these are a savior. How fast can we get something like this amended or removed from the rule book?

As I understood the rule, you could not have the power tools in pit lane. This prevented teams from doing 4 tire stops as quickly. I guess it was instituted to prevent factory drivers from "out-tire-ing" privateers in the mains.

BTW, has anyone ever seen Harry from Team Mugen change tires? That man is fast! Standard nut driver and fuel gun, pit stop for fuel and tires - 12 seconds!

Yea.. but I can't find it in the rule book... and I'm trying to so we can make sure we are consistent in our rulings in 2008.

OR.. was this an on the spot rule addition that was made by the officiating crew?

If I remember correctly it was an on-the-spot ruling, not in the rule book. Mr. Rice should know for sure.

You should try out the Ryobi version from HomeDepot. It will be blue or yellow in color. It also has and adjustable torque setting which is a good thing to have. I paid under $30 for mine.
