Default 2009 Novak Race

Hi guys,

Here are the official dates. Jan 8th - 11th. this is Thur thru Sun, This is a change from past years in a attempt to keep the cost down and more affordable for everyone to attend. We will also not be having a T shirt for the even also to help keep cost down.

HOTEL- HAMPTON INN-
There was a bit of confusion this past couple of weeks with the hotel. They had management changes during the past couple of months and our info was not passed down properly. As for many years, the Hampton Inn will again be the host hotel for Trackside. And some great news. They are giving us an even better rate. $74.99. Thats right. $74.99 the code is TRACKSIDE. Just mention this when you book your room and you are all set. Now for those of you guys who always wait until the last minuet. Dont! Call now and book your rooms.

CLASSES FOR NOVAK race. All classes must use Novak Motors, with the exception of 10.5 Rubber and Modified foam.

Trans Am- 21.5 w/Lipo or 17.5 with 4 Cell
World GT- 4cell 13.5
Sportsman (Novice-Beginner) 17..5
Stock Rubber tire- 17.5 Open to all, Sponsored drivers and Top Level ability drivers are highly encouraged not to participate in this class.
Masters Rubber Tire- 13.5
Super Stock Rubber Tire 13.5
Super Stock Foam Tire 13.5
Modified Rubber Tire 10.5 - Open Brand Motor
Modified Foam - Open Brand Motor

Spec tire will be Jaco Blue compound.
World GT class will also use Jaco Spec World GT tire just as we did at the IIC
Lipos allowed in all classes and must be charged in a Lipo Sack.

Practice on Thur
2 quals on Fri
2 quals on Sat
finals on Sunday.

As I am sure you guys will have some questions, please post them and I will answer them as quickly as I can.

New years day race will be Thursday and the Novak layout will be up for that event. We have done this for the past 3 years and it ensures that the track is perfect for the start of Practice.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone at the 2009 Novak.
Always,
Scotty

Man you should have seen the women at the show Josh! Wow.
I just landed in Amsterdam and am waiting for my flight to Hungry, so I have a few min to answer some questions.

We made the big time, we are stickied to the top. Thanks Stephen.

Weight will be 1510g with transponder.

Races will be 5 min long. I know that Roar went to 6 min which is ok for club racing, but when we have big events with numerous heats, we are talking about adding up to an hour or more to the race day.

CORE CREATIONS: This is the first year with no Mini, I decided with the interest in Trans Am, it would be the perfect time to incorporate it into the program. Mini is not dead, dont worry, it is just on Vacation for this years Novak.

IH8RACING: Glad you are going to make it. Gas is supposed to be even less in the coming weeks. Also the Hampton gave us a great break on the rooms for only $74.99, so it is time to go racing. Look forward to seeing you next month.

If you guys have any questions, please post them and myself of the gang will all chime in to answer them. I am really excited for this years Novak. With Trans Am and WGT it should be one of the best.

Bob and Charlie are again going to be here to race with us and join in the fun.

Doug Hay has his Bar code practice printout software all set and we will be using it at the Novak.

We will be broadcasting this years event on LiveRc.com so all your family can follow along online.

Question that I want to know Charlie is........... What is the score of the Charlie vs Scotty racing series.

Thanks guys,
Scotty

It is with great dissapointment that I must inform you that Mr. Novak will not be able to attend this year. Some things came up with the family that requires his attendance.

But dont' worry, my flight is booked and I'll be there will bells on.... well not really.

I'll only be racing VTA this year, so less chances for scotty to beat me.... Also gonna have one my E8ths with me, so we can all do hot laps on the offroad side, and my super trick Rock Crawler.... Well, if it fits in the box.

See Ya'll in a few weeks!

Tech related questions coming up;

On a scale from 1 - 10 how picky is the tech generally at this event. By that I mean. Are we looking at all ROAR rules or something more like a big club race. I expect the biggies like weight, bats, motors, and approved bodies. But how about something like exact wing cord or little stuff. Im asking because Im bringing a few guys who have never been a part of an event like this and I want to help them know what to prep for.

Is there a tire set limit in the rubber classes?

Will we be expected to turn tires into tech unopened?

Pretty basic tech... weight, ride height and they check to see that the wing is no higher than the roof.

If you run Lipo they check temp... (I think 110 degrees max) and voltage 8.44 max.

They have a max number of tires for the event.. I believe 3 sets per class and if you make the A you can buy another set.
You buy your tires at the race and they are labeled for your car and the class.

Did I forget anything?
