Default Gear Ratio 540

What is a good gear ratio for 540?

Also I was told that a good rollout is 40-50mm. Is that true?

Also can someone explain to me what people are talking about when they say front spool and one way that and stuff.

40 mm rollout is a good place to start,a spool is a locked front diff meaning that both wheels always turn at the same speed this can make the car corner very agressively,a front one way is a diff that only transmits power on acceleration but will coast or free wheel during braking leaving only the back wheel to do the braking,if you brake agresively the car to hook around but has great on power steering characteristics giving 100% grip during cornering and allowing the wheels to turn a differant ark at differant speeds.the out side wheel always turn further than the inside wheel
hope this helps

What capacity batteries are you using? How long are the races? Over here in NZ we run 1500 mah max and a good ratio would be about 4.1-3.9. But it all depends on your batteries because otherwise you will cook your motor because of the extra runtime.
