Default Converting touring car to rally car

Hey all,
I have an HPI Sprint 2 Flux and was wonder what i would have to do to convert this thing to a rally car. The reason why i ask is because the only place i can drive this thing without bottoming out all the time is on the street. There's a huge tennis court in front of my house i would like to drive at but there are some pretty nasty cracks that the car just barely passes over. If i can't convert it to a rally car, could i atleast upgrade to threaded shocks / stiffer springs to increase the ride height? Thanks

well the springs on the suspension don't even stretch that far; when i pull the wheels down that much the spring actually detaches from the top of the shocks.

i was thinking of the same thing the other day..
it probably can be done by removing the droop screws entirely and then using a longer shaft on the shock..

This article was written about a conversion of a XXXS sedan to a rally car, but the tips, tricks, and concepts may be of use:

If that is the case, then you could add some preload spacers on top of the springs to raise the ride height.

Better off with a DF-03RA purpose made Rally car but can run at an onroad track with very little mods (drop the ride height and chuck some slicks on!)

lol well, then this car would be a waste if i just bought a different car. I think the preload spacers are my best bet. Where can i get these spacers?

I would try longer shocks. Is there an undertray available for the Sprint? Dust and dirt kills will kill the belts.

Here's a picture of my rallycar. Reely Touringcar with longer shocks and selfmade upperdeck.

Hey nice job on that car it looks great. Yea i really just want a higher ride height to get over those cracks and bumps, not going to bring it to a sand dune or anything. That's what my nitro MT is for!

Put in longer shock arms and remove the droop screw.

Actually i just conveniently found 4 preload spacers in my R/C cabinet. It moved the chassis up a good 1.5mm-2mm!

I'm a noob, and have to ask....What are droop screws? I am considering turning my HPI Sprint 2 into a rally car as well. Money is tight, so going out and spending $200, or more, on a DF 03RA kit isn't possible. I would love one, but not possible.
