First sedan? Year?
What was your first touring car and what year was it that you started racing?

it's very hard to say, but it was a traxxas bandit, i think in 1999, maybe 2000(memory not that good). It's nice to know i've came from a bandit to graphite plus

First sedan? Year?
My first MODERN R/C Car was an HPI Super Nitro in May of '99. My first race was with an HPI Pro-2 in Oct of '99.
Circa late 1970's:
The very first R/C Car that I ever owned, was an Associated RC-200, 1/8th Gas Pan Car (too hard to drive fast). My very first race was with an Associated RC-12E 12th Electric Pan Car (too slow). Sold them both after a few months and did Airplanes on and off until I bought the Super in '99.
Circa late 1970's:

First car I ever drove was a friend's Hornet back in the late 80's. We beat that thing into the ground and super-glued it back together...then we discovered this marvel called zap-kicker. Wow, even more instant fix! I remember one time his mechanical speed controller got stuck open and the car went into a curb. I swear, it disintegrated as the rear pod went through the rest of car! haha.
A couple months later, I got my very first car, the AYK Viper Shuttle. That thing was too much car for me...and if I remember correctly, it was packaged with a mod motor and was way too fast. I think I ran that car for a total of a dozen times and it was done...
Moral of the story, if your starting out...get something you can handle. These RTR Nitro cars with claims of 60+mph is ridiculous for first timers...even though that's what companies seem to target...RTR's shouldn't go that fast...you should build em
