Good luck! The motor is mounted too high with the alum Xray mount! I can't imagine tring to get around a corner with it mounted over the drive shaft.

i was thinking the same ..... i'll have to run it and see....
if the only issue is roll in the corners, that should be easy to correct.( sway bars... )

I've been running the vert motor mount for ages.... No roll probs. Handles speed 30-35mph as good as my 1/10th...

Sorry, no carpet tracks over here. I only run onroad asphault and on big 1/10th scale tracks at that. But personally, I can assure you that you won't experience any more traccion role than you would w/ the other set-up. I personnaly find the best balance is w/ the vert motor mount. I put the controller under the drive shaft w/ saddle pack at either side. For on road I run Magenta TRC foams full uncut donuts 20mm rear on homemade rims and 17mm fronts on rear rims (custom glued) and untrued. The stance is a little wider but the car makes turns as fast, no role. Ride hieght is adjusted to be 3-4mm w an added spacer to the rear spings to keep the car a little higher for clearance on these larger, not perfectly smooth tracks. But I'll run it against a custom carpet track setup car w/o worrying about performance. The car handles as good or better than my Kyosho FW-05R. Almost as fast too. I run a Razor Micro car motor and 36t spur w/ 21t pinion. Really is a fast set-up. I was one of the origional beta testers for the Mamba, and ran the Beta version untill the other day. Awsome controller, your going to like the set-up. BTW, your car looks real nice, enjoy.

Good luck,
havy

I guess it all depends on where you are running... At my track you would not be able to make your car competetive with the motor over the shaft. I am making a new mount for my car, that will put the Mamba motor flush with the bottom of the chassis. This will allow a little more corner speed before the inside tires begin to lift off the surface. We are already running sway bars, or in my case, a suspension that is very stiff and allows for very little chassis roll. I run 2mm or less ride height. If you are running with less lateral grip, or at lower speeds, then the 'over the shaft' mount looks more attractive.

I have one of those chassis but it is dark gray carbon. If anyone is looking for a m18 with the optional blue xray chassis and xgt chassis and a brand new noval spy Im selling it all for 200.00. Also has the power pack as well

i want to get an xray m18 to race on a small carpet track. what do you guys suggest as far as esc? the mamba? is the mamba as good as novak or tekin? also, it is a small carpet track, do you think the competition x is too much power for this? thanks.
